Jaws, Lord of the Rings, Fargo, Anchorman, Night of the Living Dead, Shaun of the Dead (You've got red on you.), A Clockwork Orange, Ed Wood, Edward Scissorhands, Evil Dead.
On the TV show front (my formative years, anyway), there's In Search Of and Scooby Doo.

The book that started it all for me was Mysteries of the Unexplained, published by Reader's Digest in 1982.
And pretty much anything by Stephen King, with The Shining topping the list.
But my tastes range far beyond the realm of the unexplained, scary, and just plain weird. I've found the following writers consistently enjoyable: David Sedaris, E. Annie Proulx, Amy Tan, J.K. Rowling, Lemony Snicket, Roald Dahl, Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett, Chuck Palahniuk, J.R.R. Tolkien, Dinty Moore, Bill Bryson, Mary Roach, C.S. Lewis, Louise Erdrich, Anne LaMott, Margaret Atwood and a bunch of others I'll add as I remember them. Oh, and Kurt Vonnegut Jr. (RIP)

I'm the compiler/editor of a book called Weird Hauntings - True Tales of Ghostly Places. During the course of working on the book (and after), I met many wonderful people who have experienced the paranormal.
I'm also the updates/news editor for the magazine, Weird NJ, and editor for their special Tales From Clinton Road issue.
We've just finished our second ghostly anthology, tentatively titled Weird Encounters: Ghostly Tales of Haunted Places. When we have a release date, we'll post it here!
I talked with Roscoe Phil on April 28th: visit his show's page to have a listen!
