Title: Setting the record

Blog Entry: Hello all, I recently posted to a blog and I feel that I was misunderstood or I just need to explain a bit more. I have formed my own group in the last six months. I in no way want my posts to put across that I think my group is better than any other. I am still an active member in two other groups that do things differently than my group. The reason I formed my team is the following...I would be talking to interested parties that felt a need for an investigation...Depending on the location of their site, I would tell them about the group I was in, (am in) and take them to their web site. Two of the three groups I was/am in have websites...which prove to be very useful. In one case, I had the prospective clients look around the site..including the message boards. There was a thread about the medium/sensitives workshops...and the urging of one of the co-founders for the members to sign up.."it's just a few pennies"....Actually , it was more than a few pennies...60 dollars. THis particular client then asked me if there is a charge for the investigations..I told them "No". However, this client did not like the idea of a co-founder urging the members to pay the medium 60 bucks and take the workshop. So, I was asked..."Can't you just do it?" I ran into this with other issues also. They also did not want to take any chances that their name or anything to do with them is made public in any way. I told them that there is a confidentiality form that will need to be signed, and they really would not have to worry about that. Again, I was asked, "Can't you just do a quick investigation?" After 6 of these requests, I decided to form my own group. We don't have a website..so these clients have not to worry about that. Now, don't get me wrong, I totally enjoy going to teams websites. I find them useful and informative. Actually, the two other teams I investigate with have websites. I was just presented with a specific section of society that really needed the type of group I have. I saw a demigraphic need, and I've filled it., I don't think there is anything wrong with the way the others groups work. In fact, I will present all three groups and let the client decide. As for membership dues...I don't charge...I understand that some groups do this to keep the hobbyists out. I don't have to worry about that...our meetings are not open to the public, and the four team members are not hobbyists. I give credit to the groups that are open to the public...they serve a great service by being a great source of information. All in all, I'm not saying my way is better...I just saw a need for a certain kind of team...and formed it. If I have offended anyone, I apologize... Carol B.
