Blog Entry: My mom married my step-dad in 1972. I was 8yrs. old. My step-dads first wife died of a gun shot to the heart in the upstairs bedroom of my home. My parents sold the house to my husband and me in 1987. I've always have heard different sounds and such since I've lived here (1972). I never really gave it much thought until my husband pointed the sounds of the door opening and shutting...footsteps up and down the stairs ect. We have never been afraid and just learned to live with it. I mean who would believe us anyway? Last year (Oct. 2007)George, my husband, and I decided to renovate the house. New windows, roof siding, rebuild the bathroom and redo the attic bedroom. My mom asked me if I was going to replace the wall the had the bullet hole . Bullet hole?! The room had wood paneling. Yes, we did replace the paneling with the bullet hole with drywall. My daughter moved in the "new" bedroom. Now she doesn't know anything about the family history of the house except that I grew up in the house with my bothers and sisters. Now my daughter is experiencing some odd noises and once she woke me up quite frightened because she saw a women with dark wavey hair in a floral dress or house coat. The lady had no legs and she was calling out my step sisters name. Another recent incident happened when my friend was visiting from Florida. She was to sleep on an air mattress upstairs in my daughters bedroom. We stayed up late talking and watching t.v. She finally went to bed around 2:30 am. The next morning she swore she heard something runnig up and down the stairs. She was afraid to turn around to see what it was..so she just pulled the covers over her head. She has visited again since but refuses to sleep upstairs. I should have added that when we removed the bullet hole wall upstairs, we never found the spent bullet. It must have fallen down between the wall. We do hear sounds coming from the livingroom closet and my daughters old bedrooom which is the same connecting wall to the bullet hole wall. The bullet may have fallen thru to the first floor bedroom wall. I do on occasion see shadows in the hallway and bedrooms. My dog barks and growls at imaginary things....I should mention my dog is not a yippy dog...quite the opposite..that is why I thought it worthy to mention. Any comments welcome. w
