Subject: Orbs - revisited
Content: Before I begin my post let me say that I am fully aware of the orb debate. There isn't a more hotly contested theory in the paranormal field as "Orbs". So this post isn't so much about whether you believe orbs are spirits or not - it's just a request for a little help in the critical thinking process. I have to admit that I'm still on the fence with the whole orb thing. I'm only on the fence for one reason - control pictures. Well I say control pictures but they are not true control pictures in the scientific sense. What I mean is that I'm over 40 years old. I have been taking pictures for quite a while - way before there were such things as digital cameras. I've been using a camcorder since the first Betamax camera I used. I'm no professional photographer by any means, but I've taken allot of video and photos in my lifetime. Of all the video, polaroids, instamat camera shots, etc that I have taken throughout my lifetime, I never encountered one orb. IT was not until my second or third investigation that I actually captured an orb. The subject began to fascinate me, as I was one of those orb skeptics, so I started taking tons of pictures at night and in the dark - around the house, around the neighborhood, in the park, etc. and I never get an orb. I have only a handful of orb pictures and they have all been captured at locations where I have captured other evidence of paranormal activity. So the question is, have others found this also to be the case? My guess is that is not often the case or there wouldn't be so much skepticism. Is ther a flaw in my logic here? Are there some other control experiments I can conduct to bring a more conclusive answer to this orb thing? As much as I want to disprove all the orb pictures and videos, I have to admit that this has me scratching my head.
