Subject: Video Imaging...
Content: Does anyone use security cameras instead of video cameras? I've been looking in vain for an IR-based nightshot video camera that fits in my budget. Just fyi... Sony is the only brand that makes an IR based nightshot camera. I'm still considering them (after buying an Aiptek that didn't describe it's night vision and actually uses a pathetic little LED light) but today's foray got me thinking in another direction. I can buy a nighthawk surveillance camera with a receiver for $149 at Radio Shack. Of course, if I decide a surveillance camera's the way to go I'm going to do some extensive research before I make any purchases. So... who uses surveillance cameras and what's your experience with them? I've got a laptop so I can import the data to that and save it there for review... that's not an issue for me. How's the image quality, ease of use, etc?
