Subject: Digital Camera Question
Content: When using a film camera you have a new recording medium every time you take a picture. When using a digital camera, do you think it is possible that old data stored on a memory card can bleed through onto new photos? If you think about it when you delete something on a computer it doesn't actually delete the file. In most cases it just marks it as deleted and writes over it with another file later on. Until something is erased and written over at least 3 times you can recover it. Sometimes more then 3 times. If this is a possiblilty then should those using digital cameras be required to buy a new memory chip each time they fill one to prevent such things from happening? Would a photo be considered more valid if captured using this method? Should a card be cleaned at least to DOD standards to insure no residual data is left behind before it can be used again rather then buying a new memory card? Alan
