I am trying to gather my sorta scattered thoughts and write something sensible and well reasoned... I might not suceed but oh well. I am not writing this for millions or thousand or hundred or even dozens of people to read even though that would be nice. I am writing this to sort out what I think and what I feel ..

Science is suppose to be about collecting evidence , analyzing that evidence and then come to a conclusion based on all the evidence .

Faith is a Belief that does not rest on logical proof or material evidence. So why do people insist on trying to use scientific reasoning on faith to disprove what people believe ?  I can hear some people out there grinding their teeth at the mere mention of the word faith because it isnt rational and how dare people be irrational..

Yet ask these same people that scornfully dismiss faith to question some of the basic tenents of what is accepted as proven science and they will turn into the most belligerant of the faithful protecting science with what I would call a religious fevor ..

Point out some evidence that wasnt around at the time because of the ever increasing expansion of technology and it will either be dismissed scornfully or a credited expert in that field must examine this evidence to prove it even exists..

So an expert in that field must take the chance that all his/her colleagues will turn on him or business/government funds that will pay for the research will be denied..  So to even question something this expert must be independently wealthy or exceptionally brave ..

Just the way I see it.

So science has become sort of a faith that can't be questioned or reexamined to include new methods of gathering data.

What do I believe you might be asking yourself and why am I daring to attack science or at least the people who proclaim that science is the end all be all that will solve everything..  I'm not really ..  I just think its hypocritcal to attack someone's faith and yet be unwilling to reexamine some of what is accepted as science.. Until it becomes engineering I am not willing to accept any science on faith...
