When I was a kid, I was always afraid of the dark because I could sense a presence around me all the time, and especially when I was down in the basement in the house I grew up in. It really freaked me out!
I later realized I was sensitive to these subtle kinds of vibrations, but that's about it, I can feel if there is a presence or not, and I can feel good or bad vibes, that's about the extent of my ability aside from the odd clairvoiyance like occurance here and there.
I've always been interested in the occult and the paranormal as a young adult, but as I grew older and more skeptical, I lost alot of that interest, putting that kind of stuff off as "fantasy" and not reality, although in the back of my mind I still had curiosities about the paranormal. But with life and work, I never had time to lift my head up and take a real good look at the world around me, until recently. There have been a few life changing events in my life over the past 10 years that really got me thinking about the afterlife and my present life, and also about the paranormal, as I found I still could sense these "vibes", and wanted to know more about it.
After I watched the movie "White Noise", like I'm sure alot of you did, I became interested in EVP, especially since I"m an electronics technician, and very interested in the technical aspect of it all.
I decided to try recording for myself, so I purchased an Olympus VN120-PC digital voice recorder, and tried recording. To my surprise, I did manage to record some unexplained voices on the device, and I've been hooked ever since.
After a year has passed, I've become more and more involved with research and recording techniques, and I also joined the AAEVP to have better access to the EVP community, although I'd already been involved with the excelent folks at CJ EVP webpage, those people there are terrific, and very helpful, I owe Christine alot for her kindness and use of her website.
After realizing I was mostly conversing with Americans, (which there is nothing wrong with of course!!) I realized there really is no Canadian resource or gathering place for EVP enthusuasts or researchers, so I decided to start the Canadian Association Of Electronic Voice Phenomena (CAEVP) which is located at www.caevp.com.
Currently there is a temporary splash page there, until the organization becomes a reality, and in the meantime, there is a fully functional forum which is permenent and will not change, as well as a member chat room accessable at any time to anyone who signs up for their free membership at my site.
So, if your Canadian, American or whatever, your all welcome to come by my site and check it out, we look forward to hearing from you!
Chris ;)
