The New Year

The New Year

You know, I've been here many times in the last week, thinking about
writing about the New Year and every time I get here to write, I go
blank! What can you say about the New Year, or the old year for that
matter? It was another year of learning, living and surviving. I've
learned so much this year. I began on a quest to learn about natural
healing and remedies that will aid me in dealing with my many health
ailments. I've learned that my eating habits really suck and there is
so much I can improve on with just a little change. I can improve my
diabetes, my disk disease, my arthritis, my allergies, and my cancer
fighting/immunity levels in my body. I also learned that drinking
certain types of tea will aid in my problem with nausea from foods and
that it healed something in my hands that I thought was leading to
cervical spinal surgery. I began drinking a combination of Celestial
Seasonings Tension Tamer Tea and Peppermint tea by pouring 12 cups
water into the coffee machine and putting a bag of each in the pot and
brewing the water through and steeping (or however ya spell it) it for
10 mn. This combination has restored the feeling in my hands and taken
the extreme pain away from my hands and made the pain in my lower back
much more tolerable! Just from drinking tea! It began working within 15
minutes of the first cup and has gotten better each day. Then I forgot
to drink tea for a couple of days and my hands began to numb again and
hurt and my back pain became almost unbearable! All that healing in
just 3 cups of tea a day! WOW! That's so amazing to me!

I also
learned that when you begin to change your diet over to healing foods
such as fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs, that it takes about six
weeks before you see any change and that the first six weeks, you may
actually get worse and that's where most give up and say it doesn't
work! What does this teach a person? The evil "P" word... Patience! Oh
yeah, the one I have not yet got down! lol

I also learned to
accept what life throws your way and to find a way to deal with it or
to change it. I've basically been sick most of 2007, having colds, flu,
extreme pain and now pneumonia and lost my job this year. I have been
worried about losing the income from my job and my husband's back going
out and wondering what we would do if that happened. That lead to
illness and an increase in my pain levels (hmmm, connection there?).
So, now I've decided, since I'm not finding a job where I can work at
home, that I have to build up my business. I have the talent and the
intellect to do that but what kept me from doing it before was...the
"F" word...Fear! Fear of what??? Failing! Hallllo! I've failed because
I'm afraid of failing??? Oh my god! Welcome to life as LuAnn! lol! So
this year I am going to be organizing and then creating things to sell
for my business and get my butt out there to sell it! I have many shops
in the area that will sell my art work as well as being able to sell on
Ebay or Google now. Health wise, my sister gave me some green houses
that I can grow my own veggies and herbs to heal my body and make my
own aromatherapy oils and tinctures. So this summer will be a busy one.
My garden is going to have to be built up high so I don't have to bend
over, but I can do that! I'm also going to grow some wild flowers,
converting our lawn to beautiful flowers that bloom all summer long
instead of having to mow the lawn. Yep, that's the other thing....

Going
Green! I'm going to start composting for next year's garden. I've
already began to keep jars, plastic containers, cardboards and papers
and cans to use in my art projects to keep them out of the landfills
and now compost! We have cut down our heat bill by $200 just by filling
in around our windows of this old house (almost killed myself doing
that! lol) and we have cut our electric bill by $49 in one month by
putting all electrical things on power strip bars and turning them off
at night before going to bed. If we have to go potty, we use a
flashlight to get to and from the bathroom. Just by doing that, we
saved $49 in one month! Our electric bill went from $100/month to $51!
We still haven't put our TV's on the power bars, but that is going to
come this month and can't wait to see the savings for that! I'm looking
at figuring out how to build my own solar panels because we can't
afford to buy them and making energy out of copper wire powered by the
sun. Those projects may take me a while, but our goal is to eventually
be free of a gas and electric bill in this house and surviving off our
own grown food (with the exception of meat of course) so that we can
survive with or without an income! All this stuff I've learned this
year!

I've learned about death and cancer this year and watched
my step-father die from small cell lung cancer caused by smoking. He
has inspired my husband and I to quit smoking and we are now applying
for help for a medication that is very expensive and not covered by his
disability, so we can quit smoking. And we are both very excited about
this! Smoking sucks (no punn intended! lol) royally! I stayed at my
mom's while my step-dad was dying and she doesn't smoke or allow it in
her home. I got sick from the smell of smoke on my clothes and had to
buy febreeze to take the smell out because I couldn't sleep because of
it! I hardly smoked at all while down there and my allergies began
clearing up! So that is on the agenda for this year as well. The cancer
was part of what got me moving on learning more about natural healing,
herbs and changing the diet, not for diabetes which is a good
inspiration, but for preventing cancer!

So you see, things in
this life can be viewed as bad and really screwing up your life, but if
you choose, they can be ways to see that you need to make changes and
put some effort into learning how instead of saying "yeah, I should do
that some day." So this year I learned a lot and next year, 2008, I'll
be putting that knowledge to work and making our lives more secure and
healthy! So my resolution for this year is to keep learning and keep
doing so that life will get easier and worries become less. And that
doesn't happen by sitting around and just learning...it takes action!
So this year, will be the year of action!

The other action I'm going to take this year is to begin learning how to begin to nurture my 6th sense skills. I've avoided this for all the years I've known I have a 6th sense. My mother has it, I have it and my daughter has it, so its about time I start learning how to put it to good use! (boy that's like a freakin light bulb going off huh? lol) I can't pick and choose when this sense pops up, but I am able to tell you a conversation my mother and brother had without having been there and what is behind someone's personality that I've just met. I can tell you when something is going to happen and if I ignore it, it happens, if I don't, we avoid the situation but find out what would have happened if I wouldn't have listened to that inner voice. So its learning to acknowledge and believe that inner voice instead of ignoring it and finding out later the inner voice was right. This has been happening since I was 18 months old (my first memory actually), so its time to quit thinking it is just "chance" that it happens and begin to fine tune these skills. So again...a year of learning and a year of action!

Anyway, enough of that!
Happy New Year Everyone!

There is a show and a few books called "Christina Cooks". Thies may be of use to you. My wife started watching them and has one of her books. Basicly Christina was told she had inoperable cancer and she would die in 6 months. She learned how to eat right cook her own foods and now she still lives at least ten years later than what the doctors thought. Her show was on PBS on Saturday morning, but they moved it.

There are still issues with the inboxes. I'll get on it tomorrow and see if I can't figure out what the problem is. I apologize for any unusual things that may occur during this time. Maybe we really are haunted!?
