Whispers Closed to Ghost Hunting
by Mr_Hatt

Whispers Estate a place I have wanted to go for a while is now closed to ghost hunting. I just heard on Ghostly Talk and then went to there site said closed no more were done goodbye.

Why did all this happen because of one group that destroyed it for the rest of us. How many times has this happened where great locations and opportunity for research is destroyed by disrespectful groups. You cant really blame the owners of Whispers if someone came into my home and was disrespectful I would do the same thing.

There is a reson I am an independant researcher not with a group for that reason. I have been blessed enough to work with different goups and meet many wonderful people from IAH that has been a great learning and fun time.

But when you get a group that due that and make the rest of us look bad I frickin loose my mind.

So shout out and tell me what would you do if this happened to you.

I have had this happen to me with a group. They will never be aloud back in my building. It took me a long time before I let another group come in to do another investigation. I have had wonderful groups so far. I do get to know the group leader or some of the members before I let them in. I ask around about the groups that have asked to come in and make sure they are what they say they are. I also look at their web site before they come into my building to see if anything puts red flags up to me. I also send some of my trusted ghost hunters to their pages and have them look at it also because I'm sure they know and understand more then I ever will. It's really sad when people do this to other people and it's a very sore subject with me. I'm sorry to hear that they have closed their doors to everyone and hopefully they will be able to move on like I have done and get trust back in the ghost hunting community. Vicky

If the town was upset that the place was being used for ghost hunts then it was probably the iceing on the cake that this group was disrespectful. I am sure that there are more reasons that the place has closed. It is, nonethe less a great loss.

I have not had the priviledge to go to whispers and I would have liked to.  I however understand people move on and maybe the place has served it's purpose.  That's cool.  I too wish the best for the owners.

I was  one of the frist  few to  experence whispers  and haaaaave nothing but  good things to say about jared and his home. but there might be more than meet the eye here. I have heard whisper that the town  was not all that happy about it  and that the jared was thinking of  moveing on .  the  last time i was there he had  just about fished  the attic and was looking forward to haveing it done in the  fall.

Is it closed for ghost hunting or all together?  I read that it is totally closed for business. Is there more to it than just a bad group messing things up for ghost hunters? If so that is too bad.

However, you take a lot of chances when you open up your place to the public for these type things. (Ghost Hunting for business purposes)

The big trouble is that there is no way to determine if a group is bad until it is too late. No standardization or criteria to scrutinize before allowing someone to investigate their properties.

It is sad BUT true...  In this day and age, anyone can pick up a camera or recorder and call themselves a Ghost Hunter or Paranormal Investigator. Who is to say they are not.

If it is not a business problem and is a direct result of a bad group then they could set their own criteria for allowing investigations.
