Tornado

I have had a few people ask about the weather this past Sunday.  I live in Prattville, Alabama.  Our town received extensive damage from an EF 3 tornado.  Thank God no one was killed.  It hit in a major neighborhood, moved down Main St. and continued to damage a lot of businesses...including our Wal Mart.  Yes, the people of Prattville love Wal Mart.  Last I heard over 400 homes were damaged, 66 of which was destroyed completely.  I personally know some that have no home now.

Our community is awesome.  We have all pulled together and are helping eachother out as much as possible.  We have a lot to put back together.  It was heartbreaking to see the tears.  Please send your prayers to the people here hit the hardest.

If you are interested in seeing the some photos of the damage you can go to www.wsfa.com or www.montgomeryadvertiser.com.  It's amazing to look at the footage and realize there were no deaths.

I know whast you mean being no stranger to bad storms here in tornado ally. My home seems to be at the fringe of it all so far. Neighbors to the South and North have been hit with much damage and loss of homes and life. My home is missed by just a few miles every time.

Glad you are ok.  I think that this is the first storm system this year that missed us.  Keep your head down, just in case!

I'm so glad that you are ok and that no one was Killed in this storm. I know what your going through as we had a F4 tornado go through my town in 2005. We only had one person killed from it. I know what you mean about unreal that more were not killed. The pictures of your town are unreal. As Stoughton did when this happened, your town will all come together and make it much better. It's unreal how many people helped here and I hope you will get that same help from your town also. People are wonderful when you need them bad. You and your town will be in my prayers. Hugs, and stay safe. Vicky
