Ghost group etiquette

So I met up with some local ghost hunters today and was sorely disappointed by their lack of professionalism and their lack of...well, to be blunt, manners.

One of my pet peeves is when you try to join into a conversation, and one of the people pauses, looks you up and down, and then continues as if you said nothing.  This is very rude.  If you don't want new members, then don't have an open invite at a coffeehouse!  Just as bad, people who are the 'expert' of everything and dominate the meeting.  From ghosts to energy work to changing the oil in your car, these people dispense advice like a Pez machine.  (Their advice is about as good too.)

The use of pain meds really concerned me with one of the members.  This lady had a bad back, but I counted seven vicodine during the course of two hours.  She admitted she takes them during investigations too because 'she's in pain."  She also functions as the group's medium.  If she's in that much pain, she has no business being on an investigation.  I'm not against the use of medication just the idea of going on a professional call half stoned, especially when doing spirit contact.

::Sigh::  I guess I should look at starting my own group again.

Yes, 7 in two hours!  And no, her husband was there also to drive her.  I thought to myself "well, maybe that isn't alot.  Maybe I'm just a prude."  Honestly, half a vicodine knocks me happy.  I'm glad to know it isn't me being a prude.  Thanks, guys!

Honey, that person that looked you up and down, would have gotten some choice words from me!!!!  Ugh, I hate it when people judge by the outside.  If they're gonna be like that, who needs them.

BTW.........I like pez, but not lemon flavored, so let's call them lemon flavored Pez.

7 in two hours!  I doubt if her scrip calls for that much.  Being in the medical field I'll bet her scrip calls for at most two every four hours after so many, they will not work..  I know after only 2000 mg (most are scripted at 500) I start to see things.  Of course I also know people who eat them like M&M's, they are hooked but won't admit it.  By all means start your own group.

wow 7 vicodin thats alot! I'm sorry you had such a bad time. There is nothing wrong with starting your own group. When you do you control who is in and who isn't. I say go for it!

7 vicodin in 2 hours? WOW!! Im a sensitive, and when I go out I dont even drink coffee...Need a clear mind to do what I do. We have those " self serving look what we did" type groups here in Washington, but those of us that know them, avoid them totally and watch them spin out of control.  We just  get on with investigations, and do pay them any mind. Not much you can do about it. Just keep your nose clean and go on with investigating ghosts. We're not into the Drama, just ghosts.  We also dont need the bad karma!! I took Vicodin after my knee surgeries, and to take 7 in 2 hours is..WOW I hope she wasnt driving!! 2 of those things knocked me out. Thanks for the post hun, hope your day is going well!! Take care..~* Kat *~

Welcome to the world of the Ghost Hunting Groups and self appointed Guru's. As with anything there is a good lot and a bad lot, you have just had a bad experience with one. Do not let it stop you in your own desire to investigate the paranormal.
