My First Waverly Hills Extended Visit

I took my first 4 hr overnight tour of Waverly Hills Sanatorium almost a year ago (June 2007). This was my first extended visit. I have been two other times for the 1 hour tours but those are not as exciting for a paranormal junkie like myself.

I met up there around Midnight Monday Night/Tuesday morning and we broke up in groups of 5/6 (there were a total of approx. 26 people there).

We started on the first floor and my group immediately was given the third floor to explore. The third floor is supposedly the floor where a young image of a little boy named "Timmy" is known to appear. He likes to play with visitors and it is said that if you roll a plastic ball down the hall "Timmy" will actually roll it back to you. Let me tell you there were plastic balls in practically every room of that floor. And that floor has tons of rooms. Now if I were "Timmy" I would be so sick of looking at plastic balls. We stayed on that floor for about 1/2 hr - 45 minutes and didn't feel, see or hear anything.

Next we headed up to the 4th floor. This is the floor that is the best chance (supposedly) to see "Shadow People". We walked that floor for awhile and tried to turn off our flashlights and see the Shadow People but I still didn't see them on that floor at all. But while we were down on one side of the floor on the "veranda" like part we were standing around chatting when all of a sudden I (and the girl next to me) heard someone walking in the next room. We went to investigate but there was no one there or near us at all that could have made that sound. It actually sounded like someone walking on gravel or plaster (which there are bits of broken down walls all over the place).

We then headed up to the 5th floor which is the floor that houses Room 502. The room where the Nurse "supposedly" hanged herself. Nothing out of the ordinary happened up there at all. We stayed about 1/2 hr.

We then headed all the way back down to the 2nd floor. Again nothing out of the ordinary there at that time. So we went down to the first floor. The first floor is much darker than the rest of the building because of the lack of windows. We had heard from other people that night that the first floor was rather "active" with shadow people. So we sat outside the morgue room and peered down the hall for the longest time but we didnt' see anything at all. By that time I was getting tired and pooped. This girl and I decided to sit in some old chairs down the way a little bit and rest. Meanwhile everyone else (but us 2) headed back upstairs. So there we were (just the 2 of us) sitting in the chairs and it was completely dark and quiet. All of a sudden we heard someone walking behind us. Now mind you our chairs are facing the halls and a small open spaced room is behind us, nothing else. She kept asking me, do you hear that? I was like, uh yeah. The hair on my arms started to stand up and I was getting really nervous. This overwhelming sense of "Get the Hell off this Floor" came over me and I told her I was going upstairs. Now if it had been more people and not just me and her I would have totally stayed but I swear it felt like at any moment something was going to touch me. And I did not feel like experiencing that with her next to me. I mean she is overweight (bless her heart) and it would have taken her a rather long time to make a run for it and I would have had the decision to help her (how I do not know) or run. And I think you can understand my predicament.

Of course she went with me (she was not that brave to stay by herself) and we headed to the 2nd floor. Pretty soon a few guys yelled to come over that there was something going on. We stood at the end of the hall in a few rooms down there was a lot of commotion. Lots of klinking and clanking and knocking. They investigated and there was absolutely nothing in that room. Of course it would get quiet when someone walked in. Later on we found out that room used to be the kitchen of the hospital. OOOHHHH eerie.

I didn't go down the body chute this time. i was being lazy and didn't have the energy because it was at the end of the 4 hrs. I also had a camera but didn't take pictures because again I was lazy.

Lastly, a few of the other people on the tour said they were on one floor and a ball floated. Eh don't know what to believe on that one. And the tour guy said a few weeks ago one of the TAPS guys was there and they watched a ball float and then slam against a wall (really hard). Of course none of this is on camera.

I am going again this summer for the full 8 hour investigative tour and needless to say I am very excited to get down to the nitty gritty and hone my investigative skills on this mecca of haunted locations.

Cool!

Yes, very intense.  People think they know but they have no idea (until they experience it for themselves).
