Dream recall at odd times

I'm wondering why I recall dreams at the oddest times. Today I was getting some water and all of a sudden I have an image of a dream I had long ago. I know its a dream, because its one of the recurring themes. I wasn't  tired  (no more then usual after work) so it wasn't as if I was "nodding off". I do this dream recall thing all the time. Its usually just as snippet, maybe 10 to 15 seconds long. Never the same dream either. It even happens at work. Does anyone else ever have this happen? Any idea what it could be?

It happens to me as well.  some times the dreams I remeber are from my childhood.

Certain things will become triggers for a dream you had and will cause it to come back for your viewing...

I don't know what it is but I hate it. I'll be in the middle of something unrelated (like listening to a lecture) and then my mind will shut off and I'll live through about 30 seconds of a dream... then I miss the damn lecture. If you find anything out, tell me. Also, I finished that book you gave me. Remind Joe to pick it up the next time he comes over, hehe.
