We visited three more ghost towns this past weekend. It was quit exciting.
Our first stop was Trousdale, OK. Of couse we passed it up, drove right by it. We did get to see some pretty landscapes. When backtracking we found it. There is a newer church setting next to the old church. That was all that remained.
Stop number two was Sacred Heart. At the first cemetery there is also a very beautiful cathlic church. Down the road we found the old town site. There were several foundations, one building falling down possible a house. Also a two story building and the old bakery. We found two more cemeteries. The first was for the Priests of the church. The second one was smaller it was for the sisters of the church.
Our last stop of the day was at Lima. It is an all black community. There I met the mayor of the town and had a very nice visit. This town is still active with festivals and the like. We were able to take a few pictures of the old school building. The mayor has plans of restoring the old building. I wish her all the best of luck.
