A open mind is the key

Over time here at IAH, I have blog on many paranormal subjects. And I am always open to other members opinion. But in this field were there are so many grey areas, I have seen some members reply to blogs not with their opinion, but what they consider to be fact. And along the way I must have been guilty of doing this myself.  I think we must keep an open eye to all possiblitys. And be able to change our mind when certian facts present themselfs.


I was once under the impression that there was no such thing as a Psychic. And then it came over me, that if the Government can spend so much time and money on remote viewing ( my thinking is remote viewing has a connection to Psychic power) Then there must be something to someone ability to have Psychic powers.


So from now on when ever I reply to a blog, you will only get my opinion. And I will keep an open mind to everything.

I think that many people are open-minded enough, they are just not open-hearted enough.

Being open-hearted doesn't mean you have to agree with other people.  It just means the ability to be kind and tactful, regardless of the situation.  I have found several people on this site who are not very open-hearted ...I just don't respond to them, even when they are attacking me.  Anger just makes more anger, and nobody learns very much from it.  

I have my own religious beliefs, but I certainly enjoy hearing about other people and what they think --- I don't try to change anyone's opinion.  I try to just post information (resources or whatever) that is helpful for the discussion, and  for people to assess on their own.  What they do with it is none of my business and I leave it to them and God.

But God bless you for your thoughts...I agree !

Addressing the paranormal is a dlicate subject because it can hinge on people's religious beliefs. Where as most people can admit to a certain level of speculation regarding the scientific aspects of paranomal activity, when it comes to people's religious beliefs, most of us are pretty dogmatic about it. So not knowing anything about the specific instances that you are referring to, I'm guessing that allot of it may be stemming from personal religious or spiritual beliefs. And just as we have a right to be speculative and open-minded, they have a right to their own dogma, unless of couse it turns abusive. Like any other part of life, take what you find useful here and discard anything that isn't.

Unfortunately, there are some people on this board whose attitude seems to be 'this is a FACT!  . . . now let's discuss . .  .'


That kind of stuff sickens me, and I have for awhile now, refused to even engage in discussions with those sorts. 


In fact, maybe if we all just refused to reply, and therefore, 'feed into' these peoples' egos, maybe they would finally learn to change their tune.
