Last night I had the opportunity to investigate a home for an older couple with my local ghost investigation group. It was interesting, as the couple had rented the house for some time, and knew when they first looked at it, that someone was there. The man they rented it from also knew someone was there - his mother who had lived there 40 years and had died in the home.

After a couple years of noises, sightings of shadows and the husband getting an eyeful of an elderly female apparition, they were ready to have us in to see if we could figure out why the lady was remaining there. A gifted psychic who works with us picked up that the elderly woman was possessive of "her" house, not wanting her son to sell it - she wants it to remain in the family. After promising her that we would pass the message on, she felt a release and was able to move on unto the light with loved ones. She also was asking for mercy, so we felt compelled to let her know that she would not receive condemnation or judgment in the light, but would experience intense love, joy and of course, peace.

Interestingly, before we helped her to cross, we used the ghost box. Several "help me" messages were heard live, and also the voice of a child came through. It seems our spirit guides (someone in spirit) brought a young, lost little girl to us to cross over to the light. The spirits seem to know when we help people cross, and work to bring willing souls to us at the time. I share this, so you may be encouraged that "the other side" does indeed work with those of us on this side to help the lost and hurting. - LC
