Mirrors are an interesting subject. Stories and fairy tales have been written, horror movies have used them and in fact lots of us use them to see ourselves or what is behind us. Can we see layers of the past? Past lives? Maybe a reflection of this life, not just ourselves. This is very interesting to me. The thought of layers of past lives is one we still delve into today. When we meet for local investigation our meeting will got late into the night or early morning, doing past life recall. This is where we can see layers or skins of who we were. Again some of this is suggestion based but there are lots of times where we have struck a nerve on someone being recalled. I see this a lot.
The idea we leave an impression on a place is very real to me! Have you ever when in to a family home where someone like Grandma lived for years and got the feeling they were still there? Even down to the smells you remember.
I think that unless we look at the big picture which includes things called paranormal we are missing so much. If you think about it like any education you want to learn the known, then take that and your own ideas and go into the unknown. Thanks to people like Columbus, Thomas Edison, Ben Franklin, Alexander Graham Bell, and so many others we know that things exist even if you can see them. slowly we are finding the same with the paranormal. Recently we were doing the investigation called the house of murder where we took recording, video, shot lots of pictures. I was talking to a friend on the group who mentioned why not take mirrors to the shoot? I like this idea but haven't done it yet. My idea is to set a video camera up on tripod, shooting both the room as well as the reflection. If nothing else maybe the spirit energies are standing behind us and this will open that area up. I shoot video without additional lights so it will be at the least grainy should something appear.
Years ago we would have these get together's for seances, or a night of Ouija board. Sometimes we would meet in a basement where it was quiet and dark. taking a large mirror with us. We were looking for Maggie Walker to come to us in the mirror. (Why Maggie Walker I don't know) She was the daughter of a slave who made major accomplishments in her life, so her connection was never made clear to me. Back to the story! We would get about 12 inches from the mirror and turn off the lights! Remember this was a basement so it was totally dark. The person at the mirror would say the name Maggie walker over and over. Soon, for most of us there would be a face dimly lit in the mirror! This was the end of most peoples visit and even a few left in a hurry. Although interesting it was the power of suggestion! The more I did it the less I saw, there was a seemingly endless line of people who wanted to see this.
