Its 12pm I just got in from a dinner with some pretty interesting people. Conversation started at 6 didnt end till 1130. It was about the paranormal and religion. Psychics, Mediums, Fallen Angels, God, and Christ, the church and paranormal groups and haunted places. Pros and Cons of each. At the end of this conversation a word was being thrown around which was discernment. Both Religous orders whatever they may be and Paranormal investigators, should use decernment when dealing with anything which has to do with the Paranormal or Healings, Visions, Miricles, Spirt hauntings, et. There is good and bad in everything. Its usually by experience one can tell the difference of what is good and what is bad in a situation. The Bad of it can always be corrected. That is what hope and faith are all about.

The thought is that beyond any theological- biased view I can state Dark spirits are not good on any level.  Not PC to say but we know how they too can 'heal", and give "Gifts" etc. all at too high of a price.

Hoping they aren't considered part of what "Heals"

I realize on a certain level, seeing these spirits can help, when we see they are there we know better where to remove them from. (as with "discernment")

Yeah 'Gift" was a stumble with words searhcing for the rigth one.

Reiki is not the gift Ken, its a form of energy healing. The gift mentioned you cant do anything about, some say its a curse to have, others try to ignore it, others learn about it and use it to help other people. Some even run with the darkside of it. Reiki can bring closure to an individual that has the gift. Those who have it, (Naturally) are not going to lose it or make it go away even if they dont want it. This is why I disagree with some of the church methods on dealing with these kinds of individuals. They have it (Naturally) and it is not of the devil. Although if by choice it could be used for very bad things and bring on demonic infestations. It is still (Natural) and part of the person. Ignoring it or condemning it does not do anyone any good. It just causes more chaos in the individuals life. And there are those without this (Natural) gift who manipulate nature through various occult practices to try and attain it,(Power trip) they can fool themselves and others for a very long time and it usually brings on chaos to the individual and yes attachments and even demonic possession. Its a hard call to tell who is who in this. The ones doing it magically usually expose themselves for what they are. The true ones with the gift(Naturally) usually take the brunt of what the others are doing. and they are all lumped into one catagory which is demonic. Which is totally not the truth of the matter.

Not to seem ignorant here of "reiki", but does the 'gift' part typically entail seeing the "shadows" as though you are now able to see spirits you could not see before?
Or is this luring them in, as though that is a supposed good thing?

Shadows appearing = not good (.)for anyone, this is over 32 years of experience talking here.
(experience apart from any 'theology', it should be universally understood by all that these spirirts are not good)

If this is a "positive" journey of some sort, when does the "postive" experiences begin?

Nora your coming along fine. I always knew you had the gift. When you told me about my right eye it  floored me. And yes what you say it can drive you crazy at times is true. So you have to learn how to control it. Or make it intigrated within your being so you are protected at all times. Which I think your doing to the best of your ability. Im saying this in an open forum so others know of how crazy it can be and what they can do about it. Also there are those that want the gift which dont have it, and there are those that have the gift and have to learn about it. Your in the second catagory. And those that so have this kind of gift should never be mocked.

For starters congrats on your Reki I've always wanted to study but never really knew how to start. As for what you see I hear you %100 I'm the same way and your right they will do anything to get your attention

This is fascinating...did you see spirits before you began your training? I think you said "ever since training under her" but was just wondering if you ever had any paranormal experiences prior to that.
