Weekly blog of the paranormal #1

How is it going everyone.  Thanks for checking out the first issue of my weekly blog.  I guess a little bit of background about myself is in order.  The paranormal has interested me since a young age.  I tend to be more of a believer than a skeptic, and I try to be respectful of both sides.  I am also pursuing a career in writing with a focus on fictional stories pertaining to science fiction and paranormal horror.  I might look into writing some nonfiction stuff too, and so this is going to be some good practice.  Thats about it.  Hope you enjoy.

With this blog I want to try and present my material in a very unbiased way, but I also feel it is important to present my oppinion on skepticism right up front.  Like I said I respect both sides of the debate, but there are some things that really bother me when it comes to skeptics.  The first thing that I find aggrivating involves respect.  Everyone is entitled to their own views, but I have found there are those skeptic folks out there who love to present their oppinion, but want no part of hearing the believer's side of the story.  To me this is very disrespectful.  I have encountered many of these type of people over the years, and they could learn a great deal from the respectful open minded skeptics of the world.  I have also come across folks who get straight up hostile when the subject of the paranormal comes up.  I feel that people who act in this way fall into two catagories. One: they had a paranormal experience that was so tramatic that it is easier for them to become defensive and deny these things exist than to try and learn about them.  Two: the mere idea that paranormal activity possibly exists scares them so much that it makes them feel better to deny it very defensively.  The last group I want to talk about are the folks who do believe, but act skeptical just to fit in with others.  I will admit people are cruel.  I feel ridicule towards anyone is wrong, and I sympathize with those who have experienced it firsthand.  But I also feel that if you can't stand up for what you believe in, things will never change and minds will never be opened.

That about wraps it up for this week.  Thanks for reading.  In closing I just want to say you guys out there that have an open mind are awesome whether you believe or not.

Unitil next week

Very good blog and very good points within it. I look forward to reading your next blog. I myself am a researcher investigator and not a skeptic, but I do like to check all things out before making a conclusion that a situation may be paranormal. And yes even if everything is checked out and a conclusion is made that the activity is this or that, it still could be paranormal in nature. We have nothing to base a standard on for paranomal activity. Thats the hard part about the paranormal

There are still issues with the inboxes. I'll get on it tomorrow and see if I can't figure out what the problem is. I apologize for any unusual things that may occur during this time. Maybe we really are haunted!?
