Thermal cameras can be pricey, yes. OUr engineer has found a way to do one from about 300 - 1 grand. On my profile is a link to "Dead Science Podcast". Rob's last podcast covers thermal image cams, make it yourself RTC boxes, etc. :)

There is a huge avenue for errors with thermal imaging, and thermal cameras. Ghost Hunters themselves made error with some of their images. A lot of the "anomolies" that have been seen on GH, can be easily explained by reading the manual, we know we have three of them as a team. Thermal Imaging Cameras detect heat and cold..Heat will show as red and Cold will show as Blue, with a broad range spectrum in between. Ever seen those police helicopters that go after the bad guys and they have those cameras that you can see the guy running across the field in the dark? Thats Thermal Imaging. The camera meticulously detect temperature changes. I dunno if you have ever watched " Ghost Hunters," but they use those cameras in their investigations.  They are kinda like Digital Cameras in that they can take still pics, or videos. Interesting tools to have when goin after ghosts.
