This link was sent to me by someone who wanted my opinion of it.  I read it, and found it interesting, but I do not think it is "real".  But I am sharing it with you, since there are others here interested in the subject, and I would be interested in your "take" on it.

I make no judgements about the site, it's owner and his research methods. (I'm too busy judging my own sins to worry about judging other people for any reason)  I'm simply posting this for your interest, comments and consideration.

The following link is to a page on another paranormal site.  The paranormal investigator there, at one time, was interested in doing research on demonology and sent out a questionaire, for any demons who happened to be "possessing" anyone to respond via email.  (I know, I know!)  Anyway, one of the answers he received was quite interesting.  Although I do not think it is really from a demon, it contains some interesting tid bits --- it also happens to be extremely well written.

My personal opinion:

1.  Do not read it if you are easily suggestible.

2.  I think it was written by someone who a) has an interest in metaphysics and b) has a twisted sense of humor combined with c) a serious talent for creative writing.

3.  I think it contains a few nuggets of truth, whether by accident or by studious research on the part of the writer is up for debate, but  mixed with a lot of editorializing.

Now for the letter!

It is very well written, but I seriously doubt after speaking with a few nasties myself, that a 'demon' could speak so fluently and write so eloquently.  But due to my own experiences on this side of the paranormal, I have to say, it makes some valid points.

I especially do believe that these entities exist in a different plane than we do.  Our home is nothing like theirs and they hate our world.

I do also believe that their existance in our plane is a bad thing and that it does throw off our natural balance, for they are creatures who do not belong in our realm.

I do not agree that we can not see them except by magical means, well unless I'm magical that is, and my sons as well.  We have seen them in my house, sometimes as a black mass, and other times as a black dog, which I unfortunately woke up to in my bed one night.  I assure you, I wasn't using magical means, I was asleep when I was awoken.  I know my youngest son uses magic in no way, shape or form, but he was petrified when the black dog appeared in our bathroom and growled at him.  Poor kid practically peed his pants since he didn't want to go back into the bathroom.  They can manifest a visual form in our realm if they so choose.

I do believe the part about being contacted by accident, for I feel that happens many times, through human will.  For human will is not fully understood is it?  How is it that the power of the human mind can do such wonderful, miraculous things, but still we underestimate it?

But all in all, the warning is valid, they do not belong here, this is our realm, and I do believe if they are brought here they do do damage.  I am not sure I believe they are damaged by their time here, for I am not sure I believe they come here in body.  I believe what they manifest here on our plane is more like to an astral being.  If a person can go astral and travel, it is just their spirit that is present.  With demons, or negative entities as I've begun to call them for specific reasons I do not believe their physical body is present here in our plane, but only their spirits.  It is their spirits that can manifest visual, auditory and mental phenomena to confuse and disturb us, to bring fear and through fear gain entrance.

It was a pretty good letter and whoever wrote it has some skills, and many valid points.  All I can say is after living with these things for most of my life, they are tricky and they have potential, but in our realm, we rule.  If we make the mistake of letting these things gain entry into our lives, it is one we will regret.  I was a child when these events began to occur in my life.  I can not say if it is my own fault or the fault of the actions of others around me, but I know the events of my lifetime are indeed true events.  And they still go on to this day.  But now as an adult, I have ways of fighting back......

Viewing demons from a biblical prespective, I see many contradictions from this letter and what I believe the bible teaches us about demons or "fallen angels". I'm not by any means a theologist or a demonologist, but just from my own personal bible studies I have noticed some inconsistencies.

"I am a demon, insofar as I have emerged from a chaos plane (which would be perceived by humans as a "hell")..."

"And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. " Revelation 12:9

There seems to be a misconseption that demons are in Hell. However, the Bible seems to make it clear that the time of infernal damnation for Satan and his fallen angels will not arrive until the final judgement. Demons exists on earth until that day.

"I was brought into this world by an enormous concentration of human will, projected by my current avatar in a time of extreme distress."

Again, demons were cast out of Heavan and brought into this world through their own pride and arrogance, not by any human will.

"WE ARE NOT YOUR SERVANTS, COMPANIONS, BENEFACTORS OR PLAYTHINGS. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CONTACT US, SUMMON US OR OTHERWISE FORCE OUR EMERGENCE OR CONTAINMENT IN YOUR WORLD. PLEASE USE YOUR ORGANIZATION TO WARN OTHERS TO LEAVE US AND OUR COMPANIONS ALONE!!!"

From what I can tell of demons, the last thing they would do is warn us from contacting them. On the contrary, as is shown in the Bible again and again, Satan and his followers are constantly trying to tempt the saints.

Again, this is all from a biblical perspective and I'm sure there are those who do not view demons as fallen angels - that's a whole different debate.

Hi Bryan,

I agree with you that from a biblical perspective this letter is bogus.  However, the writer uses a lot of phraseology common in the realm of metaphysics, and ceremonial magic which is why I referenced that in my post.  I too, do not agree that it is real, but the one clue that gives the game away is this statement:

"Several human beings have died already
because of my presence here; when I return
to my plane, my avatar (a child) will likely
be dead and I will be irreparably damaged."

and this one: "She has no idea
who I am or even that I am here, but she
directly experiences the effects of my
presence (as do those around her.)"

1.  the "avatar" is posting the letter, and would have been notified by the researcher that he/she sent it, and of his/her imminent demise.  It would be logical to assume that, upon receipt of such an alarming response from the researcher,  the "avatar" would take steps to avoid this, and subsequently write to inform the researcher that such was avoided.  This didn't happen.

2.  Demons cannot "die" nor can they be physically or spiritually "damaged".  They are already "damaged" beyond repair in a spiritual sense, and they do not have any further progression beyond that, and they do not have physical bodies-- so much for that!

Yup - sounds like someone with just enough knowledge to sound credible. Perhaps this is someone dabbling into the occult and this is a subltle (or maybe not so subtle) cry for help.

Either that, or a very misguided attempt at "walking a mile in another's shoes".  Empathy, in the world of new age practice and ceremonial magic, can progress to extremes that are psychologically dangerous.  (Even psychiatrists would agree with that and there are statements about this sort of thing, by them.)

Ok - this post has brough another question up in my mind -  do demons have to be summoned in order to interract with humanity or can they come and go at will?

I do not think they need a "summons" or an "invitation".  This, the fallen world, is their realm.  It is my opinion, contrary to what some have postulated (the Warrens, Malachi Martin and some exorcists in the RCC communion) that people have to "invite" their presence.  I truly do not agree with this simply because historical Christian theology does not teach this.  Neither did the Church Fathers teach it.  Instead, what we see throughout Christian theology is the notion that this world belongs to Satan, and he pretty much, goes wherever he pleases, with God's permission.  He apparently does not have to consult us...just God.

It is true, however, that people CAN invite demonic activitiy into their lives, through various practices (also known as "sin" :D) but   it does not have to happen in that order.

As people, I do not judge the Warrens, or M. Martin, or any other person in this field.  But I respectfully disagree with their conclusion on that issue, and I think it leads to a lot of unnecessary 'victim blaming'.  Often, it does not matter really, how or when something occurred.  It only matters that it is occuring and in the realm of demon interference/activity, the only thing that matters in the end is to get rid of it.

If that's the case - and I'm not disagreeing with you I'm just wondering - why do certain occultist (such as satanist for example) perform certain rituals to summon them?

The reasons are many but generally, occultists want certain tasks performed by the demon.  Demons are not omniscient or omnipotent.  They are not everywhere, all the time, and they do not "read minds" at willl....in cases such as this, they would need to be summoned, since they cannot "know" they are wanted until they are told.  There is only one omniscient/omnipotent being and that is God.  Everyone else is a creature, created by God.
