You know, I don't think this is the Tulip Staircase (that I was talking about in the previous post). That is ironwork, not wood. And the stairwell area in the Queen's House looked to me to be white marble.
Looks like a monk, very similar to the famous photo taken of this staircase where the hand with a ring very clearly seen on the finger is gripping the banister, and it is attached to an arm which is attached to a foggy figure climbing the staircase.
I climbed this staircase back in 1977, and it never felt spooky to me (but then, it was a bright, sunny afternoon when I did it).
There are still issues with the inboxes. I'll get on it tomorrow and see if I can't figure out what the problem is. I apologize for any unusual things that may occur during this time. Maybe we really are haunted!?
