I took this photo while on a group tour at the Myrtles 2/9/08.  I did not see the face when I took the photo. I took a shot from one side of the mirror, then took this second shot from the other side as comparison. You can see through the image to the door and other tour members in the background so it is not a reflection of someone standing in front of or near the mirror.

If you look just above the statue, that is sitting at the base of the mirror, you will see the face of a young girl. She appears to have dark hair framing her face and bangs coming almost to her eyes. The outline of her eyes, nose, mouth and slender neck are visible. Her head is turned slightly left facing the camera. The collar of a light blouse with a peter pan type collar, or possibly a cameo at her neck, is visible as well.  Some have also said she appears to be wearing some type of hat, although that is not clear to me. The scary clown face is kind of a distortion of images above the girls head combined with the girls face. Part of that may be the hat some see.  I've been told this is one of the little girls who died there.

Later that evening several of us did a q&a session with a crystal pendulum in the first floor bedroom, where another guest was spending the night, and had excellent responsiveness.  The Myrtles was awesome and a place I'd love to visit again and have an overnight stay.
