Erica Popino has been a paranormal enthusiast all her life. She started exploring and photographing cemeteries 25 years ago. Erica showed a great interest in spirit photography while in high school and photographed her very first paranormal image at the age of 16. Now at the age of 42, Erica has gained an even greater knowledge by studying and investigating the paranormal.
Erica has an extensive library of books that she has studied regarding the paranormal genre and ghost hunting. She has attended many weekend paranormal conferences and lectures regarding ghost hunting. Erica participated in a weekend ghost investigation at the haunted Houghton Mansion in Massachusetts and Fort Mifflin, Pennsylvania with Jason Hawes, Grant Wilson, and Steve Gonsalves from the hit Sci-Fi series Ghost Hunters. She is looking forward to investigating The Mount Washington Hotel with T.A.P.S. this August 2008.
Erica was actively involved with the Ghost Hunters of Long Island from 2003 through 2004. In 2005 she formed Long Island’s P.A.S.T. (Paranormal Activity Study Team). P.A.S.T. is a public group consisting of over 100 members across Long Island who meet monthly for public ghost hunts, and to network and discuss the paranormal.
Erica is a lead investigator with Island Ghost Investigations www.islandghost.com Erica co-hosts a bi-weekly internet radio pod cast which discusses hauntings and the paranormal. Erica Popino has also investigated with, and been a guest speaker of The Paranormal Adventurers at many libraries across Long Island, and is a featured investigator on their website. Erica, along with fellow Island Ghost Investigations member Mike Taylor are frequent guests on the WRCN 103.9 morning show with DJ's Dave and Glenn airing a live a segment called Dead Time.

Some places that Erica has personally investigated include a haunted library on Long Island; the Houghton Mansion in North Adams, Massachusetts; the Hoosac Tunnel in Massachusetts; the Lighthouse Inn in New London, Connecticut; Katie’s bar of Smithtown, N.Y.; the Fire Island Light House, NY; Raynham Hall Museum, Oyster Bay, NY; Il Piato's restaurant, Oyster Bay, NY; the Soldiers Museum and the Jenny Wade House in Gettysburg, P.A.; The Maine Maid Inn, Jericho, N.Y.; Fort Mifflin, P.A.; and countless private homes, businesses and many cemeteries. She has also investigated many of the gold coast mansions of Long Island.
Erica has been witness to apparitions, unexplainable light anomalies, and unexplained voices and other paranormal phenomena. She is mainly involved in spirit photography but also uses other methods to discern possible hauntings. Her personal ghost hunting tools consist of a 9.1 digital camera with infra-red night shot and video, an EMF (Electro Magnetic Field) meter and K2 meter, and infra-red thermometer, a night vision scope, a digital voice recorder and a pendulum. The digital voice recorder is used to record EVP’s (Electronic Voice Phenomena).
