The origin of Halloween lies in the traditions of the Celtic people. The Celts believed that the veil between this world and the next was thinnest during this time of year. Friends and relatives who had died would often return, with their souls inhabiting an animal, often a black cat. Black cats have remained a symbol of Halloween down to the present time.
The American tradition of "trick-or-treating" probably dates back to the early All Souls' Day parades in England. During the festivities, poor citizens would beg for food and families would give them pastries called "soul cakes" in return for their promise to pray for the family's dead relatives.

Greetings, I am doing great... One thing I have to do more this year is catch up on my ghostly excursions... But with the autumn coming that's always my favorite time...... One of my friends told me about the Cary trails, have you been out there? Any encounters?
I am thinking of starting a free banner exchange for anyone with a paranormal website. If you think this is a good idea then let me know. If there is enough interest I'd start it up.
