The most accurate movies I know of describing ghost phenomena are:

1) Sixth Sense... both the boy and the doctor are completely accurate portrayals. The most accurate movie about ghosts that die suddenly.

2) The Others... makes you wonder what ghosts are experiencing. Mostly accurate.

3) Just Like Heaven... accurate about the experience of ghosts that don't know they are dead, although they relate it to being in coma to resolve the romantic comedy.

4) Truely, Madly, Deeply... a bit over the top, but a lot is accurate. Ghost helping his lover resolve her grief.

5) Ghost... other than the demons who come for the murderers, it's surprisingly accurate. I especially like that, after death, he finds another ghost to learn from.

6) PS I Love You. The scenes of her feeling his presence or seeing him there are wonderful. Great love story, too. Again, a ghost helping his lover resolve her grief.
