60's 70's classic rock mostly, but like some of todays hit.

"The Trouble with Angels"-Starring Hayley Mills (I know, you're saying Hayley who??!!!), "It's a Wonderful Life","The Song of Bernadette" starring Jennifer Jones, "The Quiet Man" starring John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara, Master and Commander - The Far Side of the World  Cinderella Man both starring Russell Crowe,  Road to Perdition with Tom Hanks.   I'm hooked terribly on "Anne of Green Gables" with Megan Follows and Richard Farnsworth. Ofcourse Richard's charactor dies, but I never get tired of watching this series of shows.

My Night at Whispers Estate by Melissa
http://www.myspace.com/missybear0281

It's a tall blue victorian house with stone angels guarding the front steps. Those angel statues are just the gateway to creepiness. It's a beautifully decorated home with quite a history. It was owned by a doctor, John Gibbons, and his wife Jessie. We stayed in the downstairs 2-room suite that was once Dr. Gibbons exam and operating rooms. Upstairs, there is Rachel's room and Jospehine's room. Rachel was the Gibbons' little girl who accidentally started a fire with the christmas tree and burned to death. Don't remember the story about Josephine, but the closet door likes to open on it's own. Also in this room is the bed from Interview With a Vampire, which the owner bought in an auction. Very cool.

Some of the girls had brought a Ouija board. Crazy bitches!! I thought everyone knew that was the gateway to hell. Haven't you seen Witchboard? Anyway, they layed it on their bed and put a digital voice recorder next to the box and left the room. A little while later, my cousin Nikki went to go get it. She brought it back into the parlor room where we all were and pressed play. We were all talking and not paying much attention to what she was hearing. She looked freaked out and had us all listen. On the recording, you can hear us far off in the other room talking. Then you hear Nikki walk into the room and right then you hear a MAN's voice say "ouija". Yes I said man, and it was as plain as day!! Little did we know that was just the beginning...

I should start by telling you who was in the house. The two people who were helping with the contruction work were John and John. Jr and Sr. Father and son. The junior John's wife Amanda. A man named Van, who is a ghosthunter from Indy and former priest... Yes...I said priest. And we shouldn't forget Jarret Marshall, who is the owner of the house and actually LIVES there. Crazy SOB. :) John and Amanda are also ghosthunters. They have rented out Waverly Hills Sanitorium and stayed alone overnight and said it was nothing compared to Whispers. Then there was our group: Me, Tammy, Nikki, Christy and Teesa.

We walked all over the house and took pictures. I'm not much of a believer in orbs, but every picture I took seemed to have one in it. I put them in my pictures if anyone wants to have a looksie.

Me, Nikki, my other cousin Tammy and their friend Coby sat down at the dining table to play a game of euchre while everyone was winding down. Van, John and Amanda sat up all their cameras and voice recorders getting ready for that nights events. I guess the night before had been VERY active. They actually video taped Rachel walking down the stairs (coming to the internet soon, I'm sure). Doors were slamming and they heard laughing. Anyway, we were playing cards when all of the sudden this sound. The only way for me to describe it is it sounded like monks singing. Ah ah ah in that classic echoing monk sond. I thought I was crazy. But I looked around and we all looked like wtf??? Did you hear that? Yep. We all did.

So then, Amanda yells from the parlor, "Come in here! The doctor is here!" We went in there and the room...ONLY that room...smelled like old aftershave. It was strongest in one spot, but could be smelled throughout the room. This was a re-occurring event all night long. Sometimes only a couple of us in one area would smell it, then it would work it's way around the room. Sometimes it was so strong it would start to make you ill. (we checked later and there are no air fresheners or anything like that in the room)

We started the investigation with the ghosthunters. We all gathered in the parlor and it was lights out, with the exception of the chandelier which was on but dimmed low. They started asking questions and trying to get evp's. It was no time until the light in the chandelier started to dim and then get bright again. It did this off and on for hours. Teesa, who was our resident skeptic, got bored and went outside to smoke. Soon after she left, we heard this noise... a growling sounding moan. It is so hard to explain this sound. I realized then that the sound I had heard earlier was this sound. Same vocalization, just different word or sound. Oh sweet Jesus you've got to be kidding me!!! I couldn't believe what I just heard!! The sound to me didn't seem to come from anywhere in particular, but you could almost feel it.

Later, Teesa accidentally started a minor fire in the butt bucket on the front porch. This really seemed to set the ghost off. She went out to put it out and Jarret said out loud, "The girl who tried to burn your house down just left" and right then the groaning moan came back and appeared to say "gooooo hooooooooome". The ghosthunter Amanda was like, what the ***** is that?!? She said she had been in the house alot and NEVER heard it sound like that before. She admitted she was scared. This sound...AAAHHH...I wish everyone could have heard it!! This vibrating, echoing heart-stopping sound!

Once more after that we heard that sound. The last time was longer and there was more than one. It sounded like about three voices all together. They started at different times and then ended together. That one was the creepiest for me. Also, we heard about 10 loud bangs in the house that you could actually feel. They were all right together. Bang, bang, bang, bang. That was a tense 30 seconds or so.

The rest of the night was seemingly quiet. Tammy and Nikki refused to sleep. They both saw Teesa, who was sleeping in the next room, saw her arm raise straight up in the air, stay there, and then drop like dead weight. WHILE SHE WAS ASLEEP!!! They said this happened about 3 times.

Jarret has a phone interview with TAPS (Sci-Fi Ghosthunters) on Wednesday. I just hope they come here and have a valid explanation for what I experienced in that house.

I wouldn't believe it if someone else was telling me the story, but I LIVED it!! It has caused me to change the way I think for sure. I have no idea what it was, but I know what I heard.

Creepiest night of my life!!!! Sorry this is so long, but I couldn't condense it much more!

Happy Halloween!!!

I'm Laura from Dayton, Oh. I'm married to Tom for the past 8 years. I'm a SAHM to our 3 children Thomas, Veronica and Anna.. I'm a bit of a plain Jane. Don't wear makeup and not real up on fashion, but I have a big heart and an understanding ear.Big lover of music of the 60's and 70's.I'm really into learning about my family history and it makes my husband a bit crazy. He can't understand why I'm so interested in looking up all these dead people. He's a riot, once I spoke of my Uncle Dale (he's now past on) and how he was the genealogist in our family and Tom thought that Genealogist was a cult of some kind.Is everyone here familiar with Giligan's Island? Well, Toms' my Giligan reincarnated and I love him to tears. He can be a pain to live with at times, but he's a blast to be around for the most part and most importantly. He has good morals. That has to be the most attractive thing about my husband. Then check out these children we have together. They certainly make life interesting :0)I don't know what I did in my life to be blessed with the people in my life, but they will always be cherished family and friends. Life is Good!!!! :0)
