Ghost investigations and EVPs

L.P.I.

A long time ago when I still lived at home with my parents, I was "picked on" daily by a ghost, a friendly little fella. The house was built by my parents in the 70's and is "across the street" from Thomas Jefferson's summer home, Poplar Forest in Forest, VA. When Poplar Forest was built all those years ago, there obviously was no "neighborhood" there or "neighborhood streets" there of course, so I guess it would be safe to say our house was built on the same land owned by TJ himself at some point. A "little black boy" (my mom eventually saw him one afternoon) basically focused his attention on me for years. It was fascinating, strange, fun, and scary all at the same time! There was never a dull moment. One thing is for sure...I have been given no choice BUT to believe! Needless to say, my desire for knowledge increased as these things continued to occur, but I didn't know anyone that investigated this stuff back then. I want to know everything there is to know about the paranormal. I recently found a local group and went on my first official investigation in May, 2007, and I got my very first EVP 32 seconds after I started recording on my first investigation. I was shocked and amazed and have been hooked on EVPs ever since. I have two wishes...First, I wish I would have been introduced to investigating and EVPs before my dad died and my mom eventually sold the house 4 years ago because it was just way too big for one person. I can only imagine the EVPs I probably could have gotten there. We used to hear voices with our human ears! I can't imagine what we would have heard if we would have done any recording! Secondly, I wish my dad, who was my best friend in the world and I miss him more than I can put into words, would speak up darn it. He hasn't yet, but that's ok...I can wait!

Family, friends, my pwecious wittle beagle named Maggie, good food (yes, I'm a pig), people that make me laugh, Seinfeld, clean floors, clean bathrooms (I have a little cleaning OCD going on sometimes), investigating the paranormal, and getting EVPs.

Rude and arrogant people, country music, dirty floors, dirty bathrooms, the fact that I can never seem to be on time no matter how early I start getting ready (I'm late for work every day, lol), and people that drive in the left lane that go slower than people in the right lane. It's called the "passing lane" for a reason people!

Hi, Just stopping by to say hi. I know I'm ready for the weekend also. I think it's going to be a working weekend though. Oh well. We have been so busy at the shop. We get our new boxer puppy, Baxter tomorrow after we close the shop. I just can't wait. We had plans to have the whole weekend off, until a lady came into the shop at the end of the day today and wants us to go look at her mothers estate up north. She needs everything moved out by next weekend. It's going to be a little over an hours drive, so we will have to take our trailer with us to start loading right away. I guess Otis and Baxter will be coming with us. I can't leave the new baby home all day long by himself. I just don't know where to turn anymore. LOL. It sure keeps us busy. I thought the older a person got the easier life was, but boy was I wrong. Hopefully in a few weeks we will be able to get away to spend some time up north at our land. Hope your weekend will be nothing but relaxing. Have a safe one. Hugs, Vicky

Just stopping by to say hi. I got done with another ghost hunt in my shop last night. Now I have a weekend off and then another one the following weekend. They have all been sleep overs. Some-day's I think I'm getting to old for this, but I love it also. I do have a huge high air mattress so that sure helps a lot. Phil and I had a nice steak dinner on the grill tonight. Oh, that was so good. I'm beat from last night still. Our new puppy (Baxter) gets picked up next weekend. Oh, that's going to keep us both so busy. We have a lot to do to get ready for the new puppy. Oh, the work never ends. I have been so busy with the book that I have been writing. I just got my proofs back and what a mess. I think I have it all fixed now. They sure made a mess of everything. This has been such a job. Not sure if I will ever do it again. It has been fun though.  Hope you have a wonderful week. Hugs, Vicky

I want to explain why I have not been here to much. My mother has been very sick and we have all been having to care for her. It's been some really ruff days and nights. We keep hoping she will get better. She takes two steps forward and then one back. Hopefully she will be doing better soon. I so enjoy all the comments left, and that's about all the time I have had time for is to read them.

Reading my comments does help me cheer up some. Between both my mom and dad being sickly, we have also been very busy at the shop. I feel like I'm in a whirl wind some days. It's been touch and go with my mom, so please put her in your prayers. My dad is doing better.

Oh, and our new boxer puppy's name is going to be Baxter. At least that is what we are thinking right now. We haven't had much time to think, but I think that will be a cool name. Ya never know, it could change when we bring him home to live with us.

I hope all is going well with you. Have a wonderful week.

Hugs, Vicky

Just stopping by to say hi and catch up with everyone. It's been a long month here, sorry I haven't been around to much. It's been just crazy here. Things are starting to look up a bit. My dad got out of the hospital recovering from a small heart attack, my mom is home recovering from her first heart attack after two weeks in the hospital. Hopefully things will go better now that we have them both back at home again. My mom has a long road ahead of her, but God willing things will go good for her, I don't think she will ever be back to normal, but she's doing ok.

Phil took me up north Sunday, to try to get some more work done on our camper we are building and darned if I didn't pull my back out again. Heck, this too will get better. I still had a nice day, and it felt good to just get away. Hope all is going well with you. Hope you have a wonderful week. Hugs, Vicky
