LOVE LOVE LOVE 70's disco, rock and roll

I don't have the patience to sit through many movies

Anything paranormal

Ghost investigations and EVPs

A long time ago when I still lived at home with my parents, I was "picked on" daily by a ghost, a friendly little fella. The house was built by my parents in the 70's and is "across the street" from Thomas Jefferson's summer home, Poplar Forest in Forest, VA. When Poplar Forest was built all those years ago, there obviously was no "neighborhood" there or "neighborhood streets" there of course, so I guess it would be safe to say our house was built on the same land owned by TJ himself at some point. A "little black boy" (my mom eventually saw him one afternoon) basically focused his attention on me for years. It was fascinating, strange, fun, and scary all at the same time! There was never a dull moment. One thing is for sure...I have been given no choice BUT to believe! Needless to say, my desire for knowledge increased as these things continued to occur, but I didn't know anyone that investigated this stuff back then. I want to know everything there is to know about the paranormal. I recently found a local group and went on my first official investigation in May, 2007, and I got my very first EVP 32 seconds after I started recording on my first investigation. I was shocked and amazed and have been hooked on EVPs ever since. I have two wishes...First, I wish I would have been introduced to investigating and EVPs before my dad died and my mom eventually sold the house 4 years ago because it was just way too big for one person. I can only imagine the EVPs I probably could have gotten there. We used to hear voices with our human ears! I can't imagine what we would have heard if we would have done any recording! Secondly, I wish my dad, who was my best friend in the world and I miss him more than I can put into words, would speak up darn it. He hasn't yet, but that's ok...I can wait!

Family, friends, my pwecious wittle beagle named Maggie, good food (yes, I'm a pig), people that make me laugh, Seinfeld, clean floors, clean bathrooms (I have a little cleaning OCD going on sometimes), investigating the paranormal, and getting EVPs.

Rude and arrogant people, country music, dirty floors, dirty bathrooms, the fact that I can never seem to be on time no matter how early I start getting ready (I'm late for work every day, lol), and people that drive in the left lane that go slower than people in the right lane. It's called the "passing lane" for a reason people!

Just stopping by to say hi. We had a great weekend. I'm sad it's over with so fast. Saturday after work we went to my brothers for a fish fry. He went to Canada over Labor Day weekend and caught all kind of northern for it, and he also had fresh shrimp shipped in from the golf. Oh that shrimp and fish were so good. Nothing like fresh sea food. Over 60 people showed up to eat.

Then on the way home that night Phil and I stopped at the haunted barn to go though that. It was a lot of fun. These people really put a lot into it.

On Sunday we had to head up to Sauk City for Phil's family reunion. We also had a blast seeing people we haven't seen in years, and the food was great there also. Not as good as the fresh fish and shrimp though.

Now it's back to work for us tomorrow. Hope you have a wonderful week. Hugs, Vicky

"When the trees their summer splendor
Change to raiment red and gold,
When the summer moon turns mellow,
And the nights are getting cold;
When the squirrels hide their acorns,
And the woodchucks disappear;
Then we know that it is autumn,
Loveliest season of the year."

Just stopping by to say hi. It was a busy weekend for us again. The shop was really busy on Friday and Saturday. Phil took 4 hours off from work Friday night, so we were able to go out for fish fry. That was so nice.

We went to Karaoke on Saturday night. We had a great time with friends.

Then on Sunday, Al (willowcrkfrm) from IAH came into town to meet Phil and I. He brought his friend Heidi with him. It was really nice getting to know him. We talked at the shop for a bit, then went up to the Koffee Kup for some lunch and had a great talk about our two places. It sure sounds like he's got a very interesting place. Then we headed back to the shop to just sit, talk and look around. It was a great time. It's so nice to meet people I have talked to on this site.

Hope you had as good of a weekend as we did. It was just a nice lazy weekend, even though we were busy all the time. Hope you have a great week. Hugs, Vicky

Just stopping by to say Hi! It's been another busy weekend for us again. We went up north to work on our camper again today. Boy, I can't wait until it's done and we can finely sleep in it. It was a beautiful day to be working on it. Not to cold and not to hot. It's great to be back home again though. Otis and Baxter just love it up there also. They had so much fun. They are both crashed and sleeping right now.

We had to do a rush clean out of a house yesterday after we closed the shop. What a mess. The lady moved out and left most of her stuff. The people that bought her house are doing a flip house, so they need to get to work on it right away. That was a lot of rush packing to say the least. At least they let us put some of the stuff we didn't have time to move in the garage. We will have to go pick up another load tomorrow. At least everything is out of the house for them.

Next weekend I have a ghost hunting team coming in. We have worked with them many times. I think it will be fun.

Hope you had a great weekend also. Have a wonderful week. Hugs, Vicky

Just stopping by to say hi. I think we are going to head up north to our land for the weekend, after we close the shop on Saturday. It will be so nice to get away. It's been awhile. I'm so looking forward to it. We still have a lot of work to get done on our new camper we have been building. It will be fun to take both Otis and Baxter with us. Otis just loves it and I'm sure Baxter will also. It will be all new to Baxter. I sure hope he likes camping as much as Otis does. Hope you have a wonderful weekend.  Hugs, Vicky
