It's go time part 2
Posted On 10/27/2007 04:26:11

In my last blog, I was worried about people not taking the investigation serious...ok that was not the problem. The problem was that the 5 winners of the radio contest...all brought a freaking friend...What was suposed to be 10 people (our team included) turned out to be like 15 add the people that run the house...add two more (I am not bitching about them)....hell, I should have brought my dogs along for crying out loud. In fact I am not really bitching. The people there did everything we asked. And I liked everybody that was there. And they seemed to have a good time...so I will call that a succsess. and they got some exposure to the paranormal field, everybody seem interested...this is all good.

But like it was said in the responces in my last blog...more is not merrier. The DJ from the radio station was great...we have no problem with that. However what I am trying to say is...if you guys ever do anything like this..make sure your group has the most control over the situation. And by that I mean, you set the rules. 5 winners means 5 people peroid.

We have been doing a local covered bridge for awhile. We can have activity going on...kids show up looking for a thrill...you can feel the place shut down every time. Less is always better.

We caught one EVP saying "get out" We think we got some laughter also. I have not gone thru all the video yet...I think I have a moving orb...but not sure if it is a bug or not. and I don't have a lot of faith in orbs anyway. But I digress.

I can say that will all the people, and if we think we caught something...we can't use it as evidence. Unless it is mindblowing of course. Too many people moving around, camera flashings, coughing and what not. I am not mad...but I felt more like an entertainer then a researcher.

The people that run the house have offered us to do the house again...just us...this is good. They even said that there was too many people were there. So we are still in good standing with them.

So good comes with the bad sometimes. evidence...I don't know yet. But, If people had a good time and learned something...then there is the good. But I will not do this again...not like this. Just a heads up.

oh I know I was all over the place with this...but it is 5:30 and still have not been to bed.

It's go time
Posted On 10/26/2007 18:11:13

Our group is doing a house tonight that is known to be haunted...here is the kicker. We worked with a local radio station about this. They gave away 5 spots for people to join us. 5 people that have no idea what to do...no meeting before hand...no idea who they are. Just show up and spend 5 hours in this historic house.

I have no problem with showing and sharing paranormal stuff those new to it. I am worried that because this place has activity, that having people that have no idea what they are doing and will will ruin evidence...or take this whole thing as a joke..or just be looking for a thrill and be busy goofing off. (I am a giant goof off myself...but not when it comes to this) It is time to get some evidence.

I always tell people NOT whisper...and then I catch myself whispering to myself. "Dude...something is going on." Was that an EVP?...nope...me being a dumb ass...damnit. Now how do I stress to a group of people...do not whisper?

Would it be wrong for me to say to a group of people I don't know to say...ok guys..I know you are here to have some fun, and you won your spot and all...but this is serious. If you want to go outside and take a break and joke around...hey I am there with you. But when inside...no games, no acting to our cameras no playing around...don't tamper with our recorders or equipment.

And my biggest concern...what if something does happen? Somebody see's something, hears something, gets touched (or worse)...I know my first time...it took everything in me not to haul ass. This is why I wish we could have sat down with the group beforhand...hey..this might happen...don't flip out...these are the ground rules and so on and so on.

Maybe I am over thinking stuff right now...I tend to do that. If we make mistakes just within our group is one thing...but being with people outside our group and looking like idiots is something else. I am not serious about life at all...but when it comes to this..I am. I hope this just does not turn out to be a giant waste of time...I need to go and get ready...I have wanted to do this house for a long time..it is important to me.

A good weekend
Posted On 10/14/2007 08:45:15

This weekend turned out more productive than I thought it would have. We set up at the local annual horror film festival as a vendor…we were just trying to get our paranormal group name out. As in…hey…if you have something that goes bump in the night…we will come take a look and see what is going on. You guys know how that works.

Amid the celebrity star power that was there ( Jason Mewes, Dee Wallace, Michal Berryman who is a GREAT guy by the way.) we had a lot more people come talk to us than I thought we would. And we got a big score with a couple from Albany NY. You might remember the episode of Ghost hunters when they did the old church with the “Goth” couple who made it into their house. He was there and approached us and asked us to come up for a weekend sometime.

After talking to him, he felt slighted by TAPS. That they did not spend enough time there and that TAPS made them look bad. And I am not bad mouthing TAPS…just saying what he told me. The guy was as sincere as he could be, down to earth and wanting some answers. They want some validation to what they are going through.

I told him that we don’t have all the equipment that TAPS has and it will never be on TV. He did not care…they want evidence. Bingo. The fact that he asked us to come up for a weekend told me, he wants a group to spend some time there, not just a few hours and say…nope…you have nothing going on. I understood what he was saying. He said he would do his best to accommodate with our every need. I asked for strippers…just me being my normal smart ass self…he said he could arrange that…I said I was kidding. He said “no really I could.” I just laughed . I was really kidding…that is just how I test people…I know it’s wrong…but that is just who I am.

It drives me crazy to no end when a paranormal group goes someplace once, for a few hours, does not catch anything and debunks the place as “not haunted.” Our team medium/physic met with him and liked him right off the bat. She was on board right then and there. And she is a busy person…hence April is when the investigation will be. Jim…the team leader and I will go up before then and do a pre investigation to get a layout of the house.

I am looking forward to this for many reasons. And the fact that these people are good people is one of them. I hope that we can catch something to validate what they are going though.

My sister worried about me
Posted On 10/06/2007 10:43:19

My sister is a devoute Christain. I am Christain also...but I am intersested in the paranormal. She found out what I do and was concerned about it. "You are not to seek ghosts and spirits those things are not of God....I don't believe human spirits wander the earth"...this that and the other thing. I explained to her...we don't sit in pentagons...use juigi boards (how ever you spell that stupid thing) (and yes...I think they are a dangerious thing to mess around with)

I explained the science side of it to her...residual hauntings and the like...you guys know what I am talking about. What if what we are after is just energy trapped in time? Then I offered her my other theroy...that is not science.

If God offers us free will in life....what makes you think we do not have free will afterwards? I would think there are those that do not want to cross over, or are scared to. Or are so attached to this world that they want to stay here. And I am sure there are some that don't know they have died and don't know what to do.

I don't see how free will can't be a two way street...maybe I am way wrong...maybe I am not. And I will also never understand how science and spirtuaity can not co-exist. It has to. God gave us the brains and tools to do it.

Eerie horror fest
Posted On 10/06/2007 10:09:53

One Week till the Eerie horror fest. Our group will be a vendor at the show. And this will also be the first time we seriously present ourselves to the general public. I am not a public person and I am not good at first impressions cuz I usally just blurt out whatever I am thinking and people take it the wrong way. It's my curse...lol.

I hope this goes well.

From the Desk of IAH:
There are still issues with the inboxes. I'll get on it tomorrow and see if I can't figure out what the problem is. I apologize for any unusual things that may occur during this time. Maybe we really are haunted!?
