*********** Metrolink crash worst since 2005***********

Metrolink took full responsibility for the crash that killed at least 23 people Friday afternoon in Chatsworth.

At a press conference this afternoon, officials increased the death toll. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa said Saturday that in addition to the 23 some bodies remain in the wreckage of the Metrolink train but it is hard to determine how many.

"There are more bodies in the wreckage, but there is no way to tell how many," said Los Angeles Mayor Anthony Villaraigosa. "The idea that human error caused this accident says to me we need some failsafe measures.
"

Shortly after the press conference Metrolink spokeswoman Denise Tyrrell said that the engineer on the train has been identified as one of the dead. The conductor is among the injured.

"We do not believe Union Pacific is at any way at fault," she said.

Tyrrell said she wasn't sure if the engineer was supposed to stop the train or pull onto a siding in the area, but she confirmed that a Signal 2 was disregarded. The engineer is supposed to get verbal and visual signals at least 2/3 mile out. It takes 1/3 mile to stop the train.

"The signals are dramatic," she said.

The engineer, who was contracted to Metrolink through a company called Veolia Transport, was supposed to pull off to a spare track, but missed the visual signal, according to Tyrrell. She was visibly shaken when delivering the news, and said she believes the engineer died.

Metrolink has been subcontracting with Veola since 1998.

A total of 135 people were injured, with 81 transported to hospitals in serious or critical condition. There was no overall condition update available Saturday, but a telephone survey of five hospitals found nine of 34 patients still critical. Many were described as having crush injuries.

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger also spoke at the press conference. "It's one of the worst train accidents in modern history. Even though we've had this tragedy...trains are the safest way to travel.
"

Metrolink service could resume early in the week, potentially Tuesday or Wednesday, after track repairs are completed, he said.

Metrolink officials said they are planning to resume service between Chatsworth and Union Station in Los Angeles on Monday, but not by train.

They are working on a "bus bridge" to transport people.

Buses should be available at Metrolink stations in Moorpark and Simi Valley, but are not expected at any stations further inland, Moorpark City Councilman Keith Millhouse said.

"People north of Moorpark should plan to get to the Moorpark or Simi Valley stations, at least for that day or two," he said, adding that transportation officials are meeting Sunday to shore up the bus plan.

Metrolink announced its determination of the accident's probable cause before investigators from the National Transportation Safety Board, leaders of the probe, made any public statements about the crash.

"Even if the train is on the main track, it must go through a series of signals and each one of the signals must be obeyed," Tyrrell told reporters. "What we believe happened, barring any new information from the NTSB, is we believe that our engineer failed to stop ... and that was the cause of the accident.

"We don't know how the error happened," she continued, "but this is what we believe happened. We believe it was our engineer who failed to stop at the signal.

"When two trains are in the same place at the same time somebody's made a terrible mistake," she said.

Metrolink said it conducted its own investigation by looking at the dispatch and signal system and wanted to release its findings to the public as soon as possible.

The collision occurred on a horseshoe-shaped section of track in Chatsworth at the west end of the San Fernando Valley.

The crash forced the Metrolink engine well back into the first passenger car, and both toppled over. Two other passenger cars remained upright.

Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villarigosa has been seen at the crash site carrying two folded flags because he believes two city employees died in the crash.

It was the deadliest U.S. passenger train accident in 15 years; a 2005 Metrolink crash killed 11.

During the night, the teams used hydraulic jacks to keep the passenger car from falling over and other specialized rescue equipment to gently tear apart the metal.

Fire Capt. Steve Ruda said the goal was to eliminate every piece of metal and gradually work down into the passenger spaces, but by midnight crews were just getting through the top deck of the double-decker train.

"There's human beings in there and it's going to be painstaking to get them out," Ruda said. "They'll have to surgically remove them.
"

His firefighters had never seen such carnage, he said. The crews would have to work carefully to document the incident for investigators and so relatives could identify bodies, Ruda said.

Does "GOD" talk to us This will give you chills
Posted On 09/13/2008 13:23:03

This will give you the chills........ GOOD chills.

A young man had been to Wednesday Night BibleStudy.
The Pastor had shared about listening to God and obeying the Lord's voice The young man couldn't help but wonder, 'Does God still speak to people?'

After service, he went out with some friends for coffee and pie and they discussed the message. Several different ones talked about how God had led them in different ways. It was about ten o'clock when the young man started driving home. Sitting in his car, he just began to pray, 'God...If you still speak to people, speak to me. I will listen. I will do my best to obey.

As he drove down the main street of his town, he had the strangest thought to stop and buy a gallon of milk. He shook his head and said out loud, 'God is that you?' He didn't get a reply and started on toward home. But again, the thought, buy a gallon of milk. The young man thought about Samuel and how he didn't recognize the voice of God, and how little Samuel ran to Eli. 'Okay, God, in case that is you, I will buy the milk.' It didn't seem like too hard a test of obedience. He could always use the milk.

He stopped and purchased the gallon of milk and started off toward home. As he passed Seventh Street, he again felt the urge, 'Turn Down that street.' This is crazy he thought, and drove on past the intersection. Again, he felt that he should turn down Seventh Street . At the next intersection, he turned back and headed down Seventh. Half jokingly, he said out loud, 'Okay, God, I will.
'

He drove several blocks, when suddenly, he felt like he should stop. He pulled over to the curb and looked around. He was in a semi- commercial area of town. It wasn't the best but it wasn't the worst of neighborhoods either. The businesses were closed and most of the houses looked dark like the people were already in bed. Again, he sensed something, 'Go and give the milk to the people in the house across the street.
'

The young man looked at the house. It was dark and it looked like the people were either gone or they were already asleep. He started to open the door and then sat back in the car seat. 'Lord, this is insane. Those people are asleep and if I wake them up, they are going to be mad and I will look stupid.' Again, he felt like he should go and give the milk. Finally, he opened the door, 'Okay God, if this is you, I will go to the door and I will give them the milk. If you want me to look like a crazy person, oka y. I want to be obedient. I guess that will count for something, but if they don't answer right away, I am out of here.
'

He walked across the street and rang the bell. He could hear some noise inside. A man's voice yelled out, 'Who is it? What do you want?' Then the door opened before the young man could get away. The man was standing there in his jeans and T-shirt. He looked like he just got out of bed. He had a strange look on his face and he didn't seem too happy to have some stranger standing on his doorstep. 'What is it?' The young man thrust out the gallon of milk, 'Here, I brought this to you.' The man took the milk and rushed down a hallway. Then from down the hall came a woman carrying the milk toward the kitchen. The man was following her holding a baby. The baby was crying. The man had tears streaming down his face. The man began speaking and half crying, 'We were just praying. We had some big bills this month and we ran out of money. We didn't have any milk for our baby. I was just praying and asking God to show me how to get some milk.' His wife in the kitchen yelled out, 'I ask him to send an Angel with some. Are you an Angel?' The young man reached into his wallet and pulled out all the money he had on him and put in the man's hand. He turned and walked back toward his car and the tears were streaming down his face. He knew that God still answers prayers

The Amazing Shanley Hotel Investigation, Napanoch NY
Category: Travel and Places

Ok folks. Buckle your seatbelts for this blog as i'm about to gush about last weekend's investigation at the Shanley investigation.

I was invited by Serenity Moore and Mass Paranormal to join the team and it's guests for a three day weekend at the historical inn and I had the time of my life. Not only is this place chock full of history and stories but it's beautifully restored and active as hell! Traveling the three hours was a treat for me as i'm used to traveling 8-12 to an investigation. The rolling hills of New York with no Walmart in sight gave me the shakes from withdrawal of city life but did give me a pleasant peaceful feeling knowing there was more of a chance of seeing my first tumbleweed and armadillo. Unfortunately we saw none of those in New York. We saw many deer, trees and Starbucks coffee shops.

This former home, bordello and now hotel -  has been visted by famous and non-famous people alike, here are some facts about the location:

From the late 1800's to the early 1900's the Shanley Hotel was a summer vacation destination and had been the resting stop on the railroad for many a weary traveler.

In 1851, it became Hungerford's Hotel, rending that their hotel was "one of the most beautiful and commodious public houses to be found in any section of the country"

Several owners later, Adolgh Wagner, a popular landlord, bought the hotel in January of 1887.  On March 18, 1895 trouble came.  A house nearby caught on fire; it spread to the hotel, burning it down to the foundation.  Diligently, by September, the new frame was up  and in November, it was open to the public once again.....

The Shanley's welcomed everyone, with
entertainment, card and domino torments, as well as glorious parties and holding special events.  In 1908 he added on a bowling alley to the building along with a billiard room and Barber Shop.....

The rich and famous were also fans of
the Shanleys.  Thomas Edison and Eleanor Roosevelt were  frequent guests and close friends.

Cynthia and Salvatore Nicosia  salvaging
it's glorious  salvaging it's glorious memories and atoning it's noble heritage once again.noble heritage once again. once again.

The first night began with everyone getting familiar with the giant place, there's a basement chock full of winding rooms, walls that lead to nowhere, crawl spaces and other gooey, buggy and damp things you'd expect in an old basement. The main floor boasts an enormous great room perfect for 'command central' and refreshments, a common place to gather and talk about whatever it is you talk about. The second floor contains beautiful refurbished rooms most with hand painted decorative floors and there are several baths. One bath has a 'human car wash' lol... awesome new shower.

The third floor is exactly in the same condition the rest of the hotel was found in. Untouched. Restoration is in the near future. There's also another wing above the bordello, rooms partially restored. The bordello room itself houses several beds and beautifiul ceiling fans, also in restoration mode.

Evidence review is stil going on with most of us as it was a long weekend. Activities included evp's EVERYWHERE, lots of photos, video, audio, psychic intuition, debunking and even a home-made ouija board for those brave enough to give it a try. Lots of experiments with balls, toys, paper, etc. were conducted all weekend.

Personal experiences were not rare, in fact immediately upon arrival many complained of hearing voices out loud, being touched, told to 'Get Out' or 'Hurry up' (in the bathroom!) and several others. I myself heard a loud "Shannon!" one evening and to my delight Tom from Mass Paranormal also heard it at the same time. Even more delightful, was the recorders that picked up the "Shannon!" evp. Since i've left the establishment, the restless spirit is still asking for me out loud, to the owners of the Shanley. I feel an obligation now, to my new friend, to perhaps pay him another visit in the near future. I have a feeling he will not disappoint.

Photos of 'orbs' were aplenty, and yes, accompanied by debunking lessons of dust and mosquitos when necessary. A visit to the local cemetary brought us tons of bug bites and bats but surprisingly one investigator caught a white apparition playing peek-a-boo around and behind a gravestone with the video camera.

Several women felt touching while sleeping, loud noises could be heard and recorded throughout the nights. My husband's bed was shaking while taking a power nap while he was alone in the famous Marguarite room. The covers were torn off him throughout the night as well. A ball was witnessed rolling down a vacant hallway on the third floor. A ghost named Christopher is rumored to be the culprit. Many murders, suicides and deaths have occurred throughout the years in this building. From a 4 year old named Rosie drowning on the property's well to a hanging suicide.

So to sum everything up, there were boatloads of evp's, too many to mention here, and this is just 'so far'. Evidence came way too easy.

I am NOT being paid or endorsed to say this in any way lol... but I have to say this has been one of the most active locations i've seen in a long while. If you're interested in learning more you can find them at http://www.shanleyhotel.com. Thank you to everyone who was there at the investigation for being so nice to me, we made a ton of new friends and I look forward to seeing you all again!

(Pics of the investigation are in the Shanley Investigation folder in my pics)

Peace out...

What Love Means to A 4 & 8 Year Child
Posted On 04/10/2008 16:06:03
This was sent to me by a real good friend her name is Mille

What Love means to a 4-8 year old . .
Slow down for three minutes to read this.  It is so worth it. Touching words from the mouth of babes. A group of professional people posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year-olds, 'What does love mean?'

The answers they got were broader and deeper than anyone could have imagined See what you think:

'When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That's love.'

Rebecca- age 8

'When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different.
You just know that your name is safe in their mouth.'

Billy - age 4

'Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other.'

Karl - age 5

'Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs.'

Chrissy - age 6

'Love is what makes you smile when you're tired.'

Terri - age 4

'Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK.'

Danny - age 7

'Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more.  My Mommy and Daddy are like that.

They look gross when they kiss'

Emily - age 8

'Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents

and listen.'

Bobby - age 7 (Wow!)

'If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who you hate,'

Nikka - age 6
(we need a few million more Nikkas on this planet)

'Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday.'

Noelle - age 7

'Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well.'

Tommy - age 6

'During my piano recital, I was on a stage and I was scared. I looked at all the people watching me and saw my daddy waving and smiling.

He was the only one doing that. I wasn't scared anymore.'

Cindy - age 8

'My mommy loves me more than anybody
You don't see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night.'

Clare - age 6

'Love is when Mommy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken.'

Elaine-age 5

'Love is when Mommy sees Daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford.'

Chris - age 7

'Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day.'

Mary Ann - age 4

'I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and has to go out and buy new ones.'

Lauren - age 4

'When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you.' (what an image)

Karen - age 7

'Love is when Mommy sees Daddy on the toilet and she doesn't think it's gross.'

Mark - age 6

'You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget.'

Jessica - age 8

And the final one

The winner was a four year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife.

Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman's yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there.

When his Mother asked what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy said,

'Nothing, I just helped him cry'

When there is nothing left but God, that is when you find out that God is all you need. Take 60 seconds and give this a shot! All you do is simply say the following small prayer for the person who sent you this.

Heavenly Father, please bless all my friends in whatever it is that You know they may be needing this day! And may their life be full of Your peace, prosperity and power as he/she seeks to have a closer relationship with You. Amen.

Inspiration for all my Friends!

This day is too valuable to waste. The people in your life are too beautiful to ignore. Take a moment to remember how fortunate you are to be you. Take a look around, with your eyes lovingly and enthusiastically open to the possibilities...

Most of what you fear does not even exist. Much of what you love is closer than you realize. You are just one small step away from being on the path toward your most treasured dream. You are just one brief thought away from understanding the richness that is your life...

You have traveled a long way to be where you are. With every step you have gained something of real and lasting value. Now is a day to move forward with more experience, knowledge and wisdom than ever before. Now is your moment to realize and fulfill the miracle that is your life...

  JACOB & TEAM's Blurbs

About me:
Jacob's original Myspace page was hacked by someone who is immature, cold hearted, and obviously doesn't care about anyone's feelings except their own. It took hours of hard work and dedication to build the page, add friends, maintain etc.. In less than a minute, it was all taken away by the hands of a selfish person known as a "Hacker".

Once again, Jacob's Team is asking for your help. Together we can rebuild his page BIGGER and BETTER than before. Reposting bulletins has been VERY effective in adding friends and shows immediate results. All we're asking from you is to copy, paste, and repost bulletins sent out by Jacob's Team. Thank you for your continued support.

Jacob Mcquade was diagnosed with stage 3-4 brain cancer. He has 7 brain tumors, all inoperable. His wish is to have a Myspace page with as many friends as possible. He enjoys reading all comments, messeges, etc... left for him by his new friends. If you do not get a response back, please do not get discouraged. Jacob is currently undergoing chemotherapy and tires easily. His weight has plummeted to a mere 63.8 pounds. He is losing an average of 2 pounds a week at this time. Please continue to pray for him as he fights this devastating disease.

Grocery List
Posted On 03/06/2008 18:25:39
Grocery List

Louise Redden, a poorly dressed lady with a look of defeat on her face,
walked into a grocery store. She approached the owner of the store in a
most humble manner and asked if he would let her charge a few groceries.

She softly explained that her husband was very ill and unable to work,
they had seven children and they needed food.

John Longhouse, the grocer, scoffed at her and requested that she leave
his store at once.

Visualizing the family needs, she said: "Please, sir! I will bring you
the money just as   soon as I can."

John told her he could not give her credit, since she did not have a
charge account at his store.

Standing beside the counter was a customer who overheard the
conversation between the two. The customer walked forward and told the
grocer that he would stand good for whatever she needed for her family.

The grocer said in a very reluctant voice, "Do you have a grocery list?"

Louise replied, "Yes sir." "O.K" he said, "put your grocery list on the
scales and whatever your grocery list weighs, I will give you that
amount in groceries."

Louise, hesitated a moment with a bowed head, then she reached into her
purse and took out a piece of paper and scribbled something on it. She
then laid the piece of paper on the scale carefully with her head still
bowed.

The eyes of the grocer and the customer showed amazement when the scales
went down and stayed down.

The grocer, staring at the scales, turned slowly to the customer and
said begrudgingly, "I can't believe it."

The customer smiled and the grocer started putting the groceries on the
other side of the scales. The scale did not balance so he continued to
put more and more groceries on them until the scales would hold no more.

The grocer stood there in utter disgust. Finally, he grabbed the piece
of paper from the scales and looked at it with greater amazement.

It was not a grocery list, it was a prayer, which said:

"Dear Lord, you know my needs and I am leaving this in your hands."

The grocer gave her the groceries that he had gathered and stood in
stunned silence.

Louise thanked him and left the store.
The other customer handed a fifty-dollar bill to the grocer and said;

"It was worth every penny of it . Only God Knows how much a prayer
weighs."

THE POWER OF PRAYER: When you receive this, say a prayer. That's all you
have to do.

Just stop right now, and say a prayer of thanks for your own good
fortune.
Then please send this to all your friends and relatives.

I believe if you will send this testimony out with prayer in faith, you
will receive what you need God to do in you and your families' life

So dear heart, trust God to heal the sick, provide food for the hungry,
clothes and shelter for those that don't have as we do. Amen & Amen

Don't break this, please!
Prayer is one of the best free gifts we receive.

There is no cost but a lot of rewards.
