The American tradition of "trick-or-treating" probably dates back to the early All Souls' Day parades in England. During the festivities, poor citizens would beg for food and families would give them pastries called "soul cakes" in return for their promise to pray for the family's dead relatives.
Hi Sorry I have been out so long!! Things have been crazy around here. James just got home the 18th of last month from a 6 month active duty job in Ga. And since then his mom and brother have both been in the hospital. And I have bronchitis in my lungs and now at 26 I am on blood pressure medicine!!
