The Law of Attraction...there IS something to this!
DATE: 07/03/2008 13:19:57 / MOOD: magical
I watched the documentary "The Secret" thought it was jibberish and kind of rambled on convering the same idea over and over again...thus I never bothered to purchase the book. This was probally about 2 months after the book had hit the New Yorks bestsellers list. I have had many conversations as I am sure many of you have, about the context of this book and the belief system that backs it up. It was successful because it "fits" into every religious belief in some form or another. Everyone can apply it somehow, but seldom rarely do.
I agree with the content...always have. I have seen the law of attraction work more times than not in my life as well those closest to me. Yes, thought is a powerful thing, so are a few others though that tend to fall by the wayside, particulary if it doesn't fit a person's itinerary!
People don't seem to give enough credit to "free will" and "karma" both of these filter into this whole "secret" to getting the things out of life you desire. We too often find ourselves depending on others to "make the difference" in our lives or to wave "their" magic wand to give us the things we want. You can do this yourself...let me say that again...you can do this yourself!!!
I am just as guilty as the next, thus the birth of one of my books and it's title..."SO WHAT IF LIFE GIVES US ROTTEN LEMONS," we have to, all of us, starting realizing the light inside of us, realize your passions, your dreams and know that you are in control of the destiny of all of these things.
Once in a meditative state and working with Katherine, my guide, I asked her what we, as in those still here on this earthbound plane, need to give like "immediate" attention to in our lives... and she stated, " there is such a need in regaining control of our own lives, too many get into the habit of relinquishing to to others, they get too wrapped up in their own selfish needs and wants and inheritantly forgets the "do unto others as you would want them to do unto you..."she emphasized this! Our conversation proceeded and once I returned back from our gathering I gave this much thought.
Have you?
We get so wrapped up in our day to day lives depending on others to give us our paychecks to live and survive on a monatary level, give us nurturing and love and a sense of belonging so that we are not alone, we really do find ourselves rely on someone for everything...but how much do we really know ourselves and rely on ourselves for the lessons in life that truly matter? I have room for improvement in this...this is my challenge...my on-going challenge for myself.
May I challenge you to do the same?
Rely on you and find the real you! Dig deep, remember karma always and the true power of thought...
Blessings, Rochelle

Stigma...wow it does have a strong hold on some! Get over it!
DATE: 06/16/2008 15:14:09 / MOOD: disappointed
Having been born and raised in Kentucky all my life, and having been a member of the 'bible belt" geographical area I have had my share of the stigmatism that is associated with the paranormal and its perplexed properties.
It never ceased to amaze me as a child growing up in this area and still doesn't to this day. It is utterly repulsive how so many people judge those who are attempting great things and making great strides in the paranormal community. We are automatically "labeled" devil worshipers or doing the work of Satan. Pleeeeese!!!!
The personal interpretation of religion and it's many writings, the generational teachings that are passed down from our previous family members are shoved down our throats it it agravates me to NO end.
Why is it that people have nothing more to do than to judge others? I live my life with an open mind, heart and loving soul. Sure I have my days, but I don't go around judging people and their beliefs. I am a firm believer in if it makes a person happy, than so be it! They don't answer to me.
I received a letter the other day, that has sparked this "bitch session," it was from my family, in particular my mother. She goes on and on about how I have never been good enough, and how this and that...and anyway, without going into a lot of the personal repetative crap and I quote, here is what she said:
"Your paranormal experiences are wrong!!! You are not supposed to go into grave yards in the middle of the night; you are supposed to let God work thru you!! Yes, you have a gift, but use it for God, not for Satan!! Do you know what divination is? It is the practice of attempting to foretell future events or discover hidden knowledge by supernatural means. God does not like this!! Yes, you have a gift!! Use it thru him!! The "Devil will seduce you and that will change you as a person!!!"
You know I strive out here in this community for great things, The Paranormal Realms' main goal is to help clients with hauntings, spread paranormal awareness and find creative means to improve paranormal unity. I haven't been in a grave yard in who knows how many years. But once again goes to show just how little interest they have taken in me and my accomplishments.
FAMILY...urgh!
Anyway this judging needs to stop! Whether personal, family or foe...worry about yourself! If your a cynical skeptic, I and many others are not doing this work to prove anything to you. If you are a non-believer we have NO interest in trying to make you a believer!
We are here pursuing something that for the most part, at least for me, has been here and with me all my life. I AM a Godly woman who just doesn't conform to the everyday "YOU MUST" believe in this or that. I question spirituality...it is my nature...I believe in a lot of things...but if one of my interests' or beliefs is something that doesn't matches yours, than be open minded enough to talk with me about it, I love a debate or intelligent conversation, but for heavens sake quit the damn judging!!!!!

My experience @ W.I.S.P.

Hi everyone!
I missed all of you this weekend! I think I managed to check in on here a couple of times. My weekend just wasnt the same without my lil' visits here on IAH...however rest assured you were mentioned during my presentation!
Well as most of you know from my previous blogs, I was a guest speaker at the 2008 Womans International Study of the Paranormal, held this past weekend in Bentonsport Iowa. I had a marvelous time and my presentation was on " Woman and their contribution in the Paranormal." I received great, wonderful and supportive comments about my speech, I wasn't really nervous at all, maybe RIGHT before going up there but I just quickly reminded myself that I knew this stuff, and that this was one of my goals and so after the little pep talk I was fine.
The reception I received from Jacqui Carpenter, Beth Cory, Kristy Hinkle and Patrick Burns was unprecidented and so kind. I was made to feel very welcomed and was included in all of the "speakers" events. It was very nice to be on that side of the fence and yet still be able to be so closely intermingled with all of the guest.
I met some incredibly empowering woman that inspired me and humbled me to say the least.
I am very glad to be back home with my babies, yet some what saddened at the same time because the experience for me was incredible and just flew by.
Jacqui Carpenter you are a beautiful soul, meeting you face to face was a highlight of my trip! Thanks for your kindness!
Spirt Chasin Ladies, especially Jen you are so inspiring...shoot for the stars girlfriend... and anytime you want to co-host with me I would be honored!
To all the ladies out there that couldnt be in attendance this year...hope you can make it next year! Watch and Listen for details!
I believe an archive of the conference which aired live during the weekend can be viewed at paranet.tv (Patrick Burns site).
It is always so incredibly humbling when you see a dream come true and a goal met...at least one of them...I have so much more yet to do...thanks to everyone that walked along with me on this one.
I am honored and blessed you were there...

I Couldn't be more honored...

OH MY GOODNESS...
The day I heard that there was going to be a conference geared towards woman in the paranormal, I remember thinking to myself, "I have to attend this conference." I immediatly began making plans, researching airline choices, hotel's and the such because I just had to attend this conference!
Those who know me intimately know that I strongly believe in unity, awareness and fairness amongst all in the paranormal community. All are equal none are more supreme than the other. The WISP Conference I knew fit all these categories and would be a great networking opportunity for me and The Paranormal Realm.
So within a few weeks all my reservations were made...and trust me when I say it has definatly been a "hurry up and wait" situation for this conference to arrive!
Today I received the most wonderful invitation! I have been asked to be a Guest Speaker at the 2008 1st annual Womans International Study of the Paranormal ~*~ WISP!!!
I am, to say the least, very honored and excited to be able to be a part of this wonderful venue!
Blessed! Yep, I feel very blessed!

OVERPRICED HAUNTED LOCATIONS

OVERPRICED HAUNTED LOCATIONS
You know I am all for historical restoration, preserving history is very important to me. I love history, always have, I have always been more confortable in my environment in a old establishment vs. a new one, regardless of the type of bldg it is. In fact I have always said I was born in the wrong time period.
This is a small portion of why I am so drawn to the paranormal and its many many varied branches. I love to go into a renowned haunted location and investigate its environment. I enjoy investigations in which takes place at locations in which finds a weekly barrage of investigators and paranormal enthusiast, I believe these locations are a draw for spirits.
True paranormal researchers and investigators who are out there really trying to find answers based on scientific means and methods are spending a very large amount of money none the less travel expenses and time away from family.
I just cant help but think that if you are a owner of a haunted location, and you are really wanting scientific evidence, work with the team on a nominal fee. We realize the responsibility and expenses that it takes for the restoration effort, we just ask that you don't charge "as much as you think you can get!"
But I ask you, "Are you realizing how much expense it takes on our end to provide you with this scientific proof?"
You know...I always rant and rave about the stigma finally decreasing to some degree, paranormal occurance finally being recognized as something other than "your crazy and loosing your mind," however the downside to this veil thinning and lifting is that there are some haunted location owners out their capitalizing on this...so frustrating! Talk about hampering our efforts as a community.
A professional and dedicated group, if one contacts you for permission to investigate your location, just remember all that goes into our end too!
Paranormal Unity isn't just for us investigators...it is for anyone whose hand may fit in that universal glove!
Just my thoughts... ok and well maybe frustrations from a passionate paranormal researcher. Argghhh!

Believing
DATE: 02/10/2008 18:57:33 / MOOD: lonely
Believing...
What do you believe in? What are your belief's in this thing known as the "paranormal?" Do you believe because you have seen it, heard it, felt it, or smelled it? Were your beliefs born because your eyes, ears, nose or hands proved it to exist?
Do you believe because your generations past shared with you their experiences, or do you believe because your past generations shunned your experiences making you thus more want to get the answers to what has happened to you, what you have experienced?
You know, regardless of how your belief in the paranormal realm began, you are among thousands and thousands of individuals who share in this belief. For centuries past and centuries to come the belief in the paranormal has grown immensly in unmeasurable numbers. There is a reason for this. There are reasons unknown to us, the general population, continues to become believers in this unproven science, at least unproven in a sense of comparison to other "sciences."
For those who believe in the paranormal, the stigma is horrendous, it is very difficult in believing in something so many people will respond very negatively towards you and in some case belittle you. It is very difficult when there is no support structure backing you to assist you in continue with this passion, that in many cases, on a close statue only you possess. Rarely, you are lucky enough to find a few other people that share in this belief that help you to continue on and in your search for answers.
Hesitantly I admit I fall into the group of believers' who lack a support structure, from a child to present day. There has been, through the years, rare opportunities in which present itself the unplanned meeting of individuals or online communities such as IAH in which helps you find those answers as to what you believe in, or find a place you can acceptedly belong.
I feel that is why I created our organization, The Paranormal Realm, and it's many branches. I too want to reach out to other "Believers," to let them know they are not alone, I desire to spread paranormal awareness. Believers have to fight the stigma, fight the ignorance of so many and stand up for what you believe, even if its not the popular belief.
So regardless of how the birth of your paranormal belief began and ensues, know that you are not alone, you are not crazy! There is someone out there in your close vicinity in which you can connect with. Thanks to I AM HAUNTED online community you are a member of a wonderful group of individuals, a group who doesn't shun and maintains an open mind and welcomes you, the believer in the paranormal!
The Paranormal Realm, although a Kentucky based paranormal research organization, networks with all paranormal groups and /or individuals. If you need assistance or someone to share an experience or stories with, we are here for you @ www.theparanormalrealm.org

Hurry up and wait!!!
DATE: 02/10/2008 17:44:35 / MOOD: lonely
Hurry up and wait...
Let's face it, paranormal phenomenon happens on its own time, not ours. Many of us have been investigating and researching the paranormal for YEARS and with the hundreds upon hundreds of seasoned investigators, or new ghost hunters popping up in every state, nothing we do, I believe is gonna make ghost or spirits interact, or phenomenon happen any faster than we would like for it to, every piece of equipment whether well known in this arena or a "new" technique is gonna prompt your much "anticipated" evidence in occuring.
I must say, I these days tire very easily when I hear an investigator make the comment, "nothing is here, it's slow, lets pack up." Sometimes I think it is just that attitude that inhibits spirit from making its presence known! We have come to a place where obtaining the "scientific piece of evidence," has become the major reason for investigating the paranormal. I mean could that be because shows like TAPS and Most Haunted "push" upon it's viewers that you have to possess the most recent piece of equipment, and spend every little bit of extra $$$ you have in your budget, in order to effectively investigate the paranormal? I have said it before to many times and strongly continue to say it today, "When does too much equipment become tooo much?"
Why is it, we as investigators and researchers of the paranormal fall into this ever present trap of belief. Why do we feel like we have to "PROVE" this existance to anyone. Isn't it true, many of us have had our own, some numerous in nature, experiences that the well known skeptics have began to make us doubt those very own experiences. I am sorry, but who cares if the skeptic and thier belief can be disproved, don't you know that there is existance? And if you are the skeptic, can we really offer you a piece of evidence that will ever be enough? I mean honestly, is there ever enough evidence to sway your opinion. Why should I even think or waste my effort or attempts. See? Why is getting the evidence the priority?
Could it be that "spirit" is shying or gunning away from interaction because of this thought process. What would happen if we shut down all of our equipment and literally sat quietly in a haunted location, completely silent? Could you do it, could you fight the urge to turn on your digital voice recorder, NOT pick up your many camera's, could you fight the urge?
It's 2008, maybe this is the technique we might want to consider on our next investigation, it's a hurry up and wait study, it is for us and it is for spirit. Just like the human, spirit may just be hurrying and waiting for you to put it all down and concentrate on THEM just like you told them you would do, remember? When you got to that location that you had planned to investigate, remember? You told them something to the fact of "We are here to learn about you and your existance, do something to show us you are here." Remember that?
Maybe it's time to stop trying to prove they exist, and start experiencing the proof that they are among you! Maybe its time to finally be OK to hurry up and wait, and FINALY to have the patience that they deserve!!
Maybe?
