Michelham Priory Investigation 06-07-07

After a mamouth drive of 9 hours and a 4 hour text conversation with Julie, Colin and Chris in a 4 hour traffic jam comparing how fair we had moved; we were an hour ahead of them! we finally arrived at Michelham Priory at 7:15pm an hour later then planned bloomin traffic!
Any way after saying hello to everyone me and Joelli decided on a look around the Gatehouse while we waited for Ju & Co to arrive. We wondered up a really steep, narrow stone staircase and the up the stairs in the other section to have a look around the main rooms. apart from being death trap stairs.... nothing sensed in there.
Next I was off in search of the ellusive toliets... i was a little wary when i realised that the toliet was actually behind the door that opens on its own in the very first episode of MH!! Being nosey.. i had a quick wonder around the ground floor on my own while everyone else turned up. I found the long hall with the famous fire place (where Rick and Karl witnessed the legs appear in pilot episode) and i placed my hands on the timbers over the harth... the wood seemed to throb either that or it was adrenlin. While standing there I felt someone poke me witha finger on the top of my arm; and when i decided to wonder further I felt like i had someone walking behind me with their hand on my shoulder guiding me... which was a nice feeling.
When everyone arrived we all split up and had a wonder in small groups i took Joelli to the long hall to start off with and she heard the sound of a whining dog (possibly) by the fire place then when went upstairs..... i dont know who was more excited on walking into the priors room the first time.... Me or Joelli! But i was pretty damn excited we both took some photos in the room and we both had the same problem; our pics all came out really blured. We both braved the seat that moved in MH episode 100 as we sat and said how amazed we were to be there we both heard a loud knock from the rhs of the room beside the fireplace; sounded like some one knocking on the wooden buearu (sp) me feeling rather brave called out for it to happen again and we did hear some more bangs and knocks to comand which was fun.
Vigil 1 - Joelli, Andy, Colin & Me in the gatehouse. first we all went to the top floor. Colin saw serveral shadows in the far corner by a door and his camera was turned off for no reason. A couple of tapping noises were heard in the fireplace area near me, and i saw a shadow in the corner where colin was; i did somem calling out but that was about it.
On the next floor down Joe, Colin and me all sat in a window while andy sat on his own. it was pretty quiet, colin saw some more shadows in the far corner and i saw some flashes on the window opposite while andy and Joe both reported seeing flashing lights around the stairs. Andy decided to go upsatirs alone and lie on the floor in the midddle of the room (for some reason!) we heard some suffling noises in the corner of the room but after we shouted to Andy; we worked out it was him. A few minutes passed and from the corner of the room we all heard shuffling; then it started to seem to move towards us weaving through the tables and chairs. Loud strong footsteps. the atmosphere seemed to get really thick around us and Joe, Colin and me all froze. I shouted to Andy to ask if he had moved... No he hadnt..... omg we were rather shaken with that! the look on colin and Joellis faces kinda said it all really. After that it was quiet again and we all left.
Vigil 2 - Back in the main building me and Joelli retreated back up to the priors room for a quick vigil... nothing happened.
Vigil 3 - As a group we all decided to go to the gate house to do a sceance five of us (me, Joelli, Gina, Pete & Anne) sat at a table with an up turned glass while everyone else sat in a circle holding hands around us. Nothing happened. Although once we were all upstairs i was standing by the stairs and i heard people walking up towards us........ strangely everyone was already upstairs... i moved rather quick
Vigil 4 - After another tea break me and Joelli ventured back up stairs to the Priors room closing the door behind me this time and sitting back in that chair! We sat and chatted about how amazing the house is and how lucky we were to be there again! after about 20mins Joe said she saw some flashing lights over my head towards the door way. On saying that about 30seconds later we heard shuffling outside of the door..... footsteps walking up to the door, shuffle by the door like they wanted to come in... my reaction was to ask who was there, no answer...... so i got up and opened the door..... no on there! i had a good look about but everyone was down the corridor doing some glass work on the dining table and every one else was sitting watching or filming!!! So who was outside the door? My mind was telling me that it was the medium; Anne but she was sitting at the table! It felt like a female presence to me. But it was so audible really loud footsteps and really loud shuffling.... i wish they had come in the room.
Vigil 5 - Me and joelli went down stairs to the long hall and shut the door behind us. we both stood by the fire place me in the corner and joelli with her back to the middle part of the fireplace. This room athough it didnt feel like there was anyone there felt uncomfortable. In my head i was asking out and i asked for some one to touch Joe..... sorry hun.... (but it worked thats why i was so spooked out when u screamed and swore). Some thing tugged really hard on the bottom of Joelli's coat.
We were very torch happy in that room... fingers constantly on the buttons! we sat opposite the fire place and while we were there i did some calling out and i reinforced.... "Please dont do any thing physical to us, just make a noise or show yourself Please". We had been sitting for about 15mins when Joelli screamed again... Joe discribed seeing a outline of a grey figure moving from left to right in front of us. I blinked i think... i didnt see a thing! typical!
Strangly the same thing happened to me as it did at Bodmin Gaol... my camera died... when Joe saw the figure i took one picture and my batteries died! The wired thing; when we left the room i tried my camera again and it worked fine; in fact the battery was stronger then it had been; and incidently worked until i got home the next day! wierd!
Vigil 6 - Up to the priors room again. but this time we we're the only people in the whole building! Everyone else was eithe rin gatehouse doing a sceance or out in the grounds going to see the Iron age huts. No thing happened but to be just the two of us alone in the whole building in the pitch dark... possibly on of the most haunted properties in the UK.......... it was amazing.
Vigil 7 - Back down stairs we ventured into the kitchen it felt empty in the kitchen but at the same time it felt like i was in some one elses space.... almost like i was expecting a bit fat cook to walk in and tell us to get out... this was the only room that i could not shout out in... it didnt feel right. Nothing happened.
From the Kitchen we went into the atrium and stood for a few minutes but it felt flat so we took some pictures and moved back to the long hall.
Vigil 8 - With fingers on the torch buttons we sat in the fireplace are a of the hall for a while then we felt uncomfortable so we moved to the other end of the hall and sat on the floor just past and opposite the harpsycord. I heard some tapping on the wood panels behind me but that was it. I called out asking for the harpsycord to be played but it didnt happen!! likei said to Joelli at the time wtf would we have done if it had played? we would have been out of there ina flash and the only way out was past it lol
Vigil 9 - We made our way back up stairs to the priors room and shut the door behind us..... by now it was getting day light. We sat around... nothing happened.
Vigil 10 - i ran down stairs and grabed a wine glass from the cabinet and we tried to get it moving in the large room upstairs.... it wobbled a few time but that was it.
Vigil 11 - The room we had a avoided all night... the nursery... i dunno why we didnt want to do that room but in the early hours through the day light we managaed it... can it was fine... and nothing happened.
Vigil 12 - We decided to welcome the morning in with one last stint in the priors room... we heard a few tapps and creaks but that was it
Unfortunatly the Priory was very quiet the night we stayed and although we travel for so long to get there and home again i would do it in an instant and i have already reserved my place for next time; so has Joelli.
My logic you cant win them all..... just goes to show that although they are active places they dot perfrom all the time .... whihch in one sense is very good.
Im sure Joelli will aggree with me that the Prior is amazing and the fact that we had the whole building to ourselves for so many hours that night was amazing! I felt so honoured to be there and i enjoyed it so much... it truely is an amazing place... yep bloody amazing!!
