The Nine Satanic Statements

Not feeling 100% today and have been web surfing, brushing up on religions. Landed on a page about Satanism on Wikipedia. While I haven�t the slightest interest in becoming a Satanist, some of the rules they have listed are amusing, some are just brainless and destructive, and some seem to make some sense. The following is a quote. What do you think? � More lists to come �

The Nine Satanic Statements

The Nine Satanic Statements are to outline what Satan within the Church of Satan Symbolizes. They are:

Satan represents indulgence instead of abstinence!

Satan represents vital existence instead of spiritual pipe dreams!

Satan represents undefiled wisdom instead of hypocritical self-deceit!

Satan represents kindness to those who deserve it instead of love wasted on ingrates!

Satan represents vengeance instead of turning the other cheek!

Satan represents responsibility to the responsible instead of concern for psychic vampires!

Satan represents man as just another animal, sometimes better, more often worse than those that walk on all-fours, who, because of his �divine spiritual and intellectual development,� has become the most vicious animal of all!

Satan represents all of the so-called sins, as they all lead to physical, mental, or emotional gratification!

Satan has been the best friend the Church has ever had, as he has kept it in business all these years!

Dav, my sense is that Christians manipulate the Bible one way, and Satanists manipulate it another LOL. What a great point: when things go awry it's to God they cry (well, probably quite a few anyway) It's like a knee-jerk reaction to the religious upbringing they had prior to Satanism IMO...

Lem, exactly! Not only has Satan kept the Church running from the outside (used as a threat by those drunk on power), but also he's been used w/in the Church (from quasi moral superiority to priests having sex w/kids).

Will, I agree that Mr. L's ideas seem to match certain atheist stances. At the same time I've read the Satanic Bible. And when I wasn't laughing at what I was reading, much of it sounded a heck of a lot like the rules described here out of Anton's mouth (to me, anyway). ... With all due respect, I think you'll find that more than a few Satanists would be happy to bash Islam and other religions right along with Christianity.

"Satan has been the best friend the Church has ever had, as he has kept it in business all these years!" How true. Reminds me, I'll have to send him a thank you card.

Yes some of the things above do make sense in the short term view of things, In the longterm view, when the shit hits the fan mostly all self absorbed people go to God, Yes the God that they so humbly took the place of during their lives
