Haunted & Historic Pythian Castle Needs Help
Posted On: 12/14/2007 13:33:11
The below message is from Tamara, the owner of the historic and haunted Pythian Castle in Springfield, MO.  She is falling victim to the bureaucracy of small town ignorance and politics.  The Pythian Castle is both a very historic place which started as an orphanage built by the Knights of Pythias in the early 1900's and which also served as a WWII Prisoner of War detention/interrogation center as well as a military hospital.

In addition to being a unique and beautiful historic location, the castle is also a very active haunted location with many having multiple spiritual encounters.  The newly released movie "Children of the Grave"
www.childrenofthegrave.com features a full segment on this location in which unique evidence was captured substantiating such haunting as well.

Both the historical and paranormal community need to pass this on in hopes of ending the small town narrow minded political actions concerning this beautiful location.

More about the situation and how to help can be found at:

There are many ways to help.  Even a small donation to their legal defense fund will help greatly as well as attending such council meetings if you are in the area, writing letters, getting media involvement or simply just passing the word along to others in the historical and/or paranormal community!

You help is greatly appreciated!

Subject: Help Save the Castle!

Dear valued customers, vendors and friends;

As you may or may not know, we have come to an unfortunate stalemate in a three year interaction with the City of Springfield to get our business license. Until now, we have been able to operate since we were in "due process" and we had done nothing to slow the system. While we have obviously needed a few upgrades such as a driveway, more parking and a front handrail, we have not been able to get permits for any of these items. And, to all our customers who would have liked these items we apologize for our inability to provide these to you. In lieu of granting permits for such items, the City of Springfield has taken a most agressive, misquided act of labeling us as a "Dangerous Building" not safe to occupy.

Many have asked how you can help us rectify the situation so the building can reopen and return to it's appropriate label as "the safest building in Springfield". For all of you, we have put a web site detailing the situation. It is called

http://cityofspringfieldmistakes.com

On this site you can make DONATIONS to help pay for the castle's growing defense fees (thank you for those who have asked for this option), contact names and numbers of parties involved, history and timelines detailing the situation as well as other ways you may help such as:

ATTEND CITY COUNCIL MEETING Monday, December 17, 2007 at 7:00pm

as we bring our case before City Council. Come and be a body in the room. Let the city council know the City of Springfield has made a mistake and it needs to be fixed.

The situation is simple and solveable with cooperation from the city and its staff.

Thank you for support.

From the Desk of IAH:
I am thinking of starting a free banner exchange for anyone with a paranormal website. If you think this is a good idea then let me know. If there is enough interest I'd start it up.
