Suiside and the afterlife
Posted On: 08/20/2008 16:36:13

I would appreciate anyones input on this, I was contacted by a friend that requested my group do an investigation on his home due to some activity he has been experiencing. The details are his younger brother some 20 years ago due to a bad relationship commited suiside, I also knew his brother who was a classmate in school, in fact the Harley davidson I ride now belonged to him & was purchased by me out of his estate.

In any event my friend has been reading some work by Van Praaug and has asked me about his brothers spirit in the afterworld, what he has gotten from this author is that we all have a pre determined time to exist on this plane and that by ending his own life prematurely his brother may be stuck in limbo untill his pre determined time has been completed.

I realized when I recieved his question that I had never really considered this aspect of afterworld experiences. I would like to be able to reassure my friend and hope that some of the others  on this site with more knowledge in this area  or perhaps a talent for sensativity might give me some ideas or advise that I can pass on to him

Thanks

Maybe someone who has committed sucide sticks around because they feel guilty for doing it or they are worried about their loved ones. I am not Catholic I am Christian. I believe we all have free will and God lets us choose our path. God knows whats in our heart and what kind of person we are and how we lived our life and he would not punish someone that was not mentally capable to make rational decisions.

"we all have a predetermined time to exist on this plane"  I believe this to be true and feel that is the only thing he is correct about.  I am not sure as well as everyone here is that we dont know what happens and would be a wonderful thought that everyones ends up in heaven no matter what.

I have so many mixed feelings on this issue kind of rips me up seeing my husband did that as well............

Hi Cc...

This is very untrue. In this life and the afterlife the only one you have to answer to is yourself.

Your friends only punisment for comminting suicide is that now he is in "Spirit" and  knows how foolish it was to cut his time short on this side.

God, or The Universe, or whatever his belief is does NOT punish us...we do that to ourselves!

Before we are born and while we are still in Spirit we decide to be born into this world to experience all the wonderful "physical" manifestations that we cannot experience in Spirit.

So, I am sure at this point he is asking himself "why did I do that when I could have gotten past this seamingly bad experience (of a failed relationship) to go on to all the wonders I signed up for"?

Wishing you and your friends peace...

What happens to a suicide is all theory.  James Van Praag is no more than a theorist and scam artist, preying on people who want some sort of condolances and he gives it to them for a price. (sounds like the Catholic church back in the day of selling saint bones and your path to heaven)

If you believe in a higher power..............ask yourself this question..........Why would God allow someone who suffered and was mentally ill to walk the earth after taking his/her life?  If anyone is in need of guidance or answers, it would be a suicide.  IMO

BTW...........The Catholic Church wouldn't even bury suicides on consecrated ground, because it was "against God's laws".  They have since changed their view because it has nothing to do with morality, but is a mental illness.

Suicides have a tendency to hang around as ghosts... but not because they've committed suicide and therefore cut their "time here on earth short" but more so because they were calling for help and don't realize they actually succeeded or are so afraid of going to Hell that they can't move forward.

The one thing I can tell you from personal experience:  my uncle committed suicide.  He crossed over immediately and is at rest.  My aunt died of a natural illness and spent almost a decade stuck here (she has since crossed and is also at rest).  The manner of death does not determine what happens after death... the attitude about death is much more important but still no guarantee for anything.

I believe that we all write our charts into the next life so that we may learn some or many specific lessons.Sometime older souls will come back very handicapped so that they and others may learn from them and that type of suffering.I don't believe that the loving God that made everything could not forgive us in these extreme times of depression.Only God knows the whole truths to everything.

Ptooey! Dying is dying.  They aren't dead, they are just alive somewhere else.  The church and state held the rights to life and death in the past.  To take one's own life was to ursurp their power.  Why should an emotionally troubled person be condemned to "limbo" when a Joe Sixpack dies in a gutter and goes to heaven.  It doesn't make sense to me.

When I first became a cop, my partner said everybody is allowed only so many heartbeats.  Don't worry about it.    I didn't. ^v^
