this blog was written a two weeks after ANTHONY JAMES KERR I
felt like writing even though I dont really know what about. I started
back to school last week, and I am already off to a great start. They
say time heals all wounds...to an extent I guess that is true. To me
it seems more that time just puts a temporary bandaid on things. The
pain still returns when you see some one that reminds you, see a
picture that does, hear a song that does, someone says something that
reminds you, or even a face that someone can make. Of course there are
times these things are comforting, and times that it helps, but there
are times you still want to wake up. Many of you know I now have a new
puppy named Crimson. She is blending in with the family quite well.
She is a very good, and easily trained puppy. John is still enjoying
his job, but hating the shift changes. I really want to go to the
cemetary, and see family again. I guess you really crave your family
more after this kind of thing. I have started making candles, and I am
seriously thinking about starting a web based business with it and gift
baskets. Anyway, I guess that is all I have to say right now
...as many of you know I lost my cousin on christmas eve eve... Today
we went to my Aunts house. Normally we go there for a Christmas
dinner, but this year we did it just to be together. It was so hard.
This is the first time I have lost anyone this close to me that wasnt a
great grandparent. While we were there Dad said a prayer that reminded
me of my previous blog post. It seems like I posted that a month or
two ago, but it was only 8 days before we lost him. It was posted on
the message board I have belonged to for 2 years. This video on there
meant so much to me, and is so true. Nothing seems to be the same any
more. Food disgusts me, nothing is as pretty as it was before, air
seems suffocating rather then life giving, I feel like I am living in a
dream that just wont go away. Devastation is an understatement. I am
glad I went today though. While it was hard to deal with it helped
being with the people who understood how we all felt. I have for the
time being dedicated a large portion of my site to him. I have a
memorial there, the profile song is for him (it really was the closest
song I could find to fit my feelings) there are several videos I have
dedicated to him, and I would appreciate if you all took the time to
watch them, the video in my last blog, and the pics I put up of him
from a few christmas' ago for two seperate years. The funeral will be
this Thursday. I am too a point that I dont even know how to describe
what I am feeling. That is why I wanted to write this blog...please
watch the video of my last blog. Please keep me and my family in your
prayers, and to the ones who have called, left me messages on here, on
the board, and the one who posted the video of "logan the sky angel
cowboy" I am deeply touched and I thank you so much from the bottom of
my heart. (I had originally wrote a much better version of this blog
but my internet had a glitch right as I hit post and I lost everything
I wrote and couldnt remember what it said)
I know I haven't written a blog in a while, but I have been very busy.
My surgery went fine, and I am feeling completely myself again already.
I am amazed to find out more weird things about stupid people. A
thread in my message board that I frequent had a subject about stupid
things you hear in the news. This got me to thinking about my next
topic. First off I am not a Harry Potter fan whatsoever. This is not
due to religious beliefs or anything of the like. The main reason is
because it was meant to be a children's book yet it has turned women,
and men of all ages in to screaming twelve year olds worse than any
star wars freak around. The next reason is I am not into the whole
story line of the book. Then it also falls into the whole trendy thing
that I hate. Last but not least almost everyone who reads this book
becomes so obsessed with the story that they think they are living it
in everyday life, and have lost complete ability to distinguish fantasy
from reality. I just found out that this book series has come to its
end, and due to this some people are so distraught that they need grief
counselors to cope with its finality. While I am not a fan of the book
I have nothing against the people who read them or love them despite my
feelings of it. I do have a problem, however, with the people who
become obsessed with it. If you need a grief counselor to help you get
through the trying time of children's book you may want to consider a
real counselor to determine if you should be taking care of yourself
and others. Another thing that I brought up myself in this thread
was people who protest the war by beating people up. I am not a huge
fan of the war, but I support my troops fully. I do think it is
completely counter productive to be speaking of the desire for peace
while acting in violence. It is a huge contradiction in terms. This
brings up a whole new group of points that need to be made in peoples
contradictions. First off it is no secret that I am completely anti
abortion for many reasons that I will not cover at this time. Everyone
has their beliefs on this one and everyone feels strongly about it. I
do think it is really stupid to protest the murder of human being
children by blowing up and killing other human beings. What did you
prove? Absolutely nothing! On the other hand we have people who work
and support PETA a group that is against cruelty to animals. These
people have been known to harm people to keep them from harming
animals. I am sorry but the day you put an animals life before a human
is when you seriously need to think about moving in with a pack of
wolves, and leaving society as you are no good to us any longer.
Another strong point on this is most if not all of PETA members are
pro-choice so I am surprised that they don't all have bumper stickers
that say "save a whale, kill a baby"! This however is just my own
opinion and means little in the long scheme of things.
There are so many things I see, and hear almost on a daily basis in
this country that confuses me. As many of you know I am an avid talk
radio listener. This brings up my next subject Happy-Mediums (so don't
know any other word for it). I have even touched on this a few times in
some of my college papers that I had to write in the last college I was
in. My first instance of this problem is the whole evolutionist versus
creationist. I am a Christian and I do very much believe in God, and
creationism. There is, however, evidence that some forms of evolution
has taken place over the earths existence. On one hand you have
people who believe that only evolution happened as well as the big bang
theory. Then on the other hand you have people who believe that God
created the earth in 6 days, and everything that is here is the same as
it was during creation. Well why not have a Happy-Medium and realize
that yes there is some evidence of evolution. Believing in evolution
does not disprove the existence of God. Many Christians do not get it.
In fact it would strongly strengthen their debates with evolutionist if
they looked at this in another perspective. Wouldn't believing that
some (certainly not all, especially that whole "we came from monkeys"
thing) prove that God is even more amazing then just creating the earth
in 6 days. I mean think about it. He made us and all living things with
the ability to adapt to our environment over time. Instead many
Christians believe that looking at it in this perspective would be
wrong. I don't recall seeing that anywhere in the Bible. I may go into
this subject deeper at another time. My next example is the welfare
system. On one hand you have a group that believes the welfare system
should punish you for being married, and for bettering your self in any
way. Support you for pretty much the rest of your life. All the while
keeping you poor, and never let you progress past barely surviving.
Then on the other hand you have those who don't wanna help you at all
past some Church assistance. There should most certainly be a
Happy-Medium here. The problem with punishing you for being married has
been greatly lessened since Bush took away much of the marriage
penalties (any liberal reading this will argue this I am sure of it,
but I know this first hand). Why not have a system that increases
education, and the affordability of it. Why not have a system that
encourages getting on your own feet with some assistance. That rewards
you for doing the right things to better yourself. I have written a
whole paper on this subject in college. I could go much further in
detail, but for the sake of time I won't. These are just a two
examples on Happy-Mediums needed in this country. I have often thought
that instead of Democrat or Republican there needed to be a third
party. The Happy-Medium party. That takes the idea of both parties, and
makes a compromise. I think there would be less anger, and bitterness
among the parties if we could come to this. I am sure I will think of
many other examples and write a part 2 to this one of these days.
Ok so this blog writing thing may have something to it. I do like the
idea of expressing myself even though I am pretty sure no one is
reading these. I was not exactly sure what to make today's topic, but
my best friend gave me an idea without even knowing she did. Today's
topic will be about stupidity. This is an even bigger pet peeve of mine
than trendiness. Don't get me wrong people are entitled to make
mistakes I have no issues with that. I am talking about people who have
a brain but choose not to use it. An example is someone does something
wrong like bump into you with their shopping cart, or go down the wrong
way in a parking lot that has directing arrows. Then after doing this
they look at you like you were the one in the wrong, and often times
even cuss you out! This is stupidity in its finest form. Then again is
this particular situation just stupidity, or could it be an added touch
of arrogance. Then continued downward spiral of humanity where people
think the world owes them something. Then again this is something for a
whole other "blog" entry. These same people come into a fast food place
then yell at the people who took their order when they don't get what
they asked for. They don't seem to grasp the concept that in most cases
the people who took the order did NOT cook the food or prepare it. It
is insane to yell at someone for something they have no control over. I
worked at a grocery store years ago and was often yelled at for some of
the prices being to high. I never could get over this. I have to pay
the same prices for my groceries as they do, and I have no control over
the prices. In most cases in fact I made less money then the people
complaining. Obviously if I had control over the price of groceries
they would be much cheaper so people like me at that time could afford
more. Then you have these people that no matter what you say to them to
convince them they are wrong, or even what proof you have to show them
they will never believe any differently then they do now. While I have
no issues with the original concept of the old school goth era I have a
major problem with the new "trendy" goth era. These people claim to be
"individuals" yet the entire time they are acting just like all of
their friends. In high school I was what I call semi-goth. I never
really got into the piercings or wearing all black. I did listen to the
music, and hang out with them, believed in being my own person,
exploring who I was, and all the other things that went along with the
concept. All in all though being your own person means being who you
really are. If your dressing all in black, and worshiping vampires, and
many of the other things that come with the new "trendy" goth just to
be like your other "trendy" goth friends then you aren't being an
individual. You are just as much as a conformist as you claim everyone
else is. This is being stupid! Not to mention contradicting yourself.
While on the subject of contradicting yourself this is another problem
that I have with many of the stupid people I am discussing now. There
is one last group of people I haven't touched on yet. This is my most
hated group of stupid people yet! The out of touch with reality people.
These are the people that read a book, see a movie, or watch a tv show,
and forget it is not real. These are the people who watch Twister, and
then want to be a storm chaser just because it looked cool in the
movie. These people are the ones who read one too many Harry Potter
books, or watched one too many episodes of Charmed, or saw The Craft,
and thought hey that looks cool I am going to be a witch now. Don't get
me wrong I am not discriminatory over religion, but in this case they
only chose it because of the movies. I mean I am all for a good movie,
and I love horror and the like. I will not, however, want to be a
zombie. This is form of stupidity in my opinion is hardly ever
discussed. I guess this is because of the worlds belief in not wanting
to offend. Come on people offend these people. They need to be
committed. Is it not true that it is a form of insanity to not know the
difference between reality, and fiction. Anyway as you can see I can go
on about this forever. My point in all of this is that the world really
needs a rude wakeup call that will never happen unfortunately.
This is one of the first blog entries that I have ever written. This is
not because I do not like to write, but instead it is the fact that I
think blog is a strange word. Blog sounds like something you would hear
on star trek or one of those sci-fi movies. So as time progressed the
more I heard this word the more I loathed it. When I loath something I
protest it by not doing it. Then over time I give in to the trend and
start doing it myself. I did the same thing with myspace. At first
myspace seemed like something so trendy that I wouldn't have any part
of. Finally I discovered my Mom had one, and lets face it when your Mom
gets something like a myspace the trend has hit the extreme. This made
me hate myspace even more. Well then I started feeling left out (go
figure) so I decided to make one. I then discovered that myspace can be
very addictive and yet safely fun if used correctly. I guess the
whole point of my ramblings here is one of the first glimpses into this
weird brain of mine. I am very anti trend. Sometimes I will give into
the trend, but most of the time I stick to my guns until death. It is
kind of like Winnie the Pooh. This cute lovable bear in this cute
lovable cartoon annoys the holy living crap out of me! Why??? The
reason is because everyone else loves him. Everybody buys watches,
clothes, purses, decorates their children's room with this lovable
bear. It makes me sick. I hate trends I refuse to like something just
because everyone else does. It is also like Brad Pitt. Yes, he is not
bad looking. Most people, however, found Brad Pitt so attractive is
simply because everyone else does. So therefore I hated Brad Pitt. I
boycott trends and will until the end of eternity with the exception of
some things like my giving in with myspace, and now the evil "blog".
