Picture of a little girl that hangs in our shop. We have a feeling that this little girl is not living in this picture. She seems to be floating in the picture and the eye's and hands don't look right
Hi Vicky, Great photo. I am thinking it is an old photo that has been colorized. Those types, the colored pieces do not look natural and don't have a backdrop. My mom has one of my grandparents that has added color, which makes it look animated. I am not sure about this girls eyes, It is hard to tell. I am ashamed to admit (lol) that I have seen post-mortem photo's on the webb and you can tell they are not alive. Most have the eyes closed and the few that are open are really vacant looking and creepy. Usually, they are propped up in their coffin or on a piece of furniture, a blanket or lace used as a backdrop of under them, and always with flowers around them or in their hand, which she may have in her left hand, that was just not retouched in color. Of course, I am not saying that this photo is or it isn't one of those because it could be possible. It is a beautiful photo, I can see why you like it. Maybe it is an early attemp in photography for the halo effect, they use today. Cyndi
Vicky do you think this could be something an artist did with only a small shot to go by of her? Seeing there is no feet and that GLOW I think it was to be this way per the artist himself or herself.??????
