what ever it is its coming from the outside of the door

I've looked at all three photos several times now, and IMO it is the light from the flash bouncing off the mirror causing a shadow to appear in the mirror from the door jam.  The strange shape is an optical illusion caused by the mirror.  This is my opinion based upon the light refraction on the door jam above the guy in the stripe's head.

I've looked at all three of these pictures. May I ask as to what is unexplainable in the mirror? Only thing I can see is the reflection in it of whatever's in that doorway or window area on the left.
