Fascinating web site
Posted On 10/17/2007 11:17:56

I found this web site thru one of my magazine pasttimes, Games Magazine.   There is a very interesting article in the magazine this month about forensic genealogy thru photos... The following site demonstrates logical thinking and some excellent research to find out the details on a specific photo each month.   This though not directly related to ghost investigations, could help an investigators skills in research!

Take a look:

I Saw the Taps Guys Live.
Posted On 10/13/2007 19:08:32

The crowd at the college for these guys was amazing--completely sold out and I would estimate 600+ people there. They said it was one of the biggest crowds they have spoken to so far.

As for Jason and Grant...

I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by Jason and Grant in person.  Outside the confines of their show they seemed to be really down to earth and quite funny to boot.

One of the first things they said when then came out is "We HATE editing"!   They went on to describe how much work the show really is--they  have to film 20- 30 locations to get the few that are air each season,  they spend several nights at each location to get enough footage for the few minutes we see on tape.

They walked thru some of their philosophies, all of which you know from watching the show.   They elaborated on several of their favorite episodes....Including the Stanley "Cat" clip--hearing a better recording, still does not convince me it is anything but a cat.

They put up some of their unaired cased, and had the audience guess what the issue was--paranormal or not....and what it logically could have been.  It was very entertaining, because some of the outcomes I have encounted myself while on an investigation.  Alcohol/drug issues, menopause, and mental illness.

Then we got to see some unaired footage that due to prior strict confidentiality they were unable to show.   They managed to get limited confidentiatly on the clips, I do have to say they were interesting, a lot more raw then the footage you see edited half to death on the show.

The most interesting part of the show however was the audience!   It was really obvious who the ghost investigators were, who the fans (fanatics) were and those who were just there for the show.   It really frightened me more then a little bit at how many of the fanatics were also investigators, mostly because I wonder if they do any thinking for themselves, or just follow the Grant and Jason bible.....

I do like that the guys wrapped up the show letting everyone on how hard it is to be a ghost hunter, to keep thinking rationally and to try and find the normal before the paranormal. They said they turned down the show 5 times before they finally agreed to it, hoping to keep people from jumping to conclusions of paranormal.

Because of my crowd issues (large groups of people just annoy me no end!) I left immediately, and did not stick around for the autograph signings.

Okay so that was my limited TAPS experience...Anybody have any questions?

A little about me
Posted On 07/13/2007 17:30:33

Okay first off, Thanks to everyone stopping by to check out my site!  I appreciate the interest, and for those of you wonder the origin of my screen name Ladybegood1 it is really rather lame.   I had a collection of old movies that the family inherited from an uncle who passed away, he was partial to old B&W films and musicals.   Anyway, Lady Be Good is the title of an old  1940's film.  I was tossed up between that and Bird on a Wire --but that one ended up being taken, so Ladybegood it was!

This weekend our group is having a fund raiser garage sale, so nothing paranormal there.  However (little tremors of excitement ) next weekend we will be doing an over night at the Hannah House in Indianapolis, IN.   We will also check out he local cemetaries and if we can get anywhere close to it the grounds of the old Indiana State Hospital.   I really cannot wait!   One of you asked about us visiting the Ashmore Estates, that is in our plans, my sister has already been in contact.  We were originally planning it for August but have since pushed it off until March.  We will get there!

We are also planning a evening with Vicky from Elsings second hand shop in Stoughton in August.   We can't wait to experience your place in the full cover of Darkness Vicky!

We have more in store but it is all still in the works.  One of these days I will get in here and remember some of our past locations (and hopeful re-visits in the future) such as Mansfield Reformatory (Frank's Team there is the best--great bang for the buck so to speak) Lemp Mansion--very gracious hosts there, and the very spooky Manteno--love it there.

Also I will eventually get around to pics etc, but not right now. I am outta here for now--Hope to meet all of you in person one day!

From the Desk of IAH:
I am thinking of starting a free banner exchange for anyone with a paranormal website. If you think this is a good idea then let me know. If there is enough interest I'd start it up.
