It started with one Ghost show
Posted On 10/27/2008 16:05:42

It's no secret that I have an issue with the media when it comes to putting ghost hunting out there.  We all know that there are teams of people who just started ghost hunting groups after watching a show of TAPS, Ghost Adventurers or Paranormal State.  We get mad when they go out and do half a$$ed jobs and make the rest of us look like whack-a-doodles.

I have to admit, I was one of those who saw the shows, before I even thought of becoming an investigator.  However, I didn't just go out and start a group, I read tons of books (always reading them, I should say), went to conferences, attended workshops, contacted and joined many of the existing groups in my area.  So, we know there are better ways to begin a life in the paranormal, yet there are still those who forget the term "For entertainment purposes only" and go out taking the supernatural world by idiotic storm.

This brings me to the new episode that will be airing tonight on Paranormal State.  If you don't know already, they will be having a girl on who is supposedly afflicted by demons.  I guess they will also be doing some sort of exorcism on this girl. I, of course, don't know all the legistics of what is going to happen during this thing, but the sheer thought of it occuring on TV frightens the heck out of me.

It doesn't frighten me to the extent that it is possibly an exorcism, but that they are airing it on the show, under the term "For entertainment purposes only".  Did I miss when an exorcism became for entertainment purposes?  Aren't we suppose to be terrified, not entertained, when it comes to someone being cleansed of the demonic?

     One more thing that frightens me is the equation that many of us know by now.  Paranormal Show + interested, but naive people= New team of ghosthunters with no clue.  So let's change the math factors............. Demonic exorcism show + interested, but naive people= New group of self proclaimed demonologists.  I don't know, seems a bit scarier to me.  Imagine hordes of groups with their own demonologists who's qualifications are watching TV shows, buying a rosary, and a prayer book. *shivers*            &n bsp;

I'm bored, what's for dinner?
Posted On 10/20/2008 16:39:28

These are the words I hear every night from my children.  My answer always is, go play with your toys or do your homework and you'll see what were having when I slap it down on your plate.    Well, I'm bored, so what are all you guys having for dinner?  I'm making lasagna and homemade garlic bread, with salads.  What are you having?

Unity
Posted On 10/19/2008 09:58:17

Recently at UNIVCON, the not new idea of paranormal unity had come up.  In the process, a group was formed that was going to start looking up bylaws to create such a group.  The goal was to create a sort of yellow pages for new investigators and an open network for those willing to share information. (Which everyone should, hint, hint) I had someone nominate me, because I tell it like it is (or atleast, that's what I've been told I do).

So, in talking to others about this endeavor, I've heard that there are other groups out there doing the same thing.  My question, is it possible or is it all a pipe dream?  If it's possible, then how would someone acheive it?  If it's a pipe dream then why?

Is there something in the air?
Posted On 10/19/2008 09:39:52

Okay, finally got some time to sit and write some of the things swirling in my head.  Did anyone see Haunting Evidence last night?  If not, that is the show with Patrick Burns (one of the nicest guys ever) and two psychics, John Oliver and Carla (the last name escapes me).  They go over cold cases, investigating via psychic feelings and paranormal technology.  They've caught some interesting stuff.

Last night, they went over the Zodiac Killer. They retraced the steps of the killer and murders in all the different sites.  Apparently the psychics were able to pick up on feelings, thoughts, visions, smells, and other things to glean some sort of information, much of it was spot on.

Now, I've been trying to wrap my brain around this whole psychic thing.  I've been told, by a reknown psychic, that psychics can't read minds. Okay, but I've also been told to point to my mind.  You can't, your brain and your mind are two different things.  The mind is not a physical thing.  So who's to say you can't read my mind?  If the mind is a ball of energy, and maybe I can't use it to make things move, but couldn't it be possible that I would be able to send out some sort of information to those around me.

This thought brought me to how psychics are able to tune into something that happened decades ago in a certain area.  I could see connecting with the murdered people.  Energy left behind, yadda, yadda, yadda, you all know the drill.  However, they psychics were picking up on the killer's thoughts, feelings, and so on.  What if he's not dead?  How were they able to pick up on the killer?  Do we leave impressions, even when alive, that psychics can pick up on?  I've heard of people having fights and seeing their own apparitions or energy recreating the same fight over. (There are probably alot of me and my husband running all over place. LOL)

Then we go back to my last question............... if they can pick up on past strong feelings, emotions, blah, blah, blah, why couldn't they pick up on them while we are standing right next to them?  Is it not really a matter of being "psychic" but more susceptible to others EMF or energy that they are able to read what's coming out of them.

Does anyone know of a good Quantum Mechanic?
Posted On 10/07/2008 21:50:02

I haven't done much since attending UNIVCON. I just haven't had the energy, but I figured it was time to push through it because I have so many things swirling in my head at this point. At Univcon, I attended a workshop held by Konstantinos. I don't know how many of you know about him, but he is truly an interesting guy. (And very fricken tall, had to stand on my tiptoes to get a picture with him) He gave a speech about Quantum Mechanics and how it relates to the paranormal, which was very fascinating and brain numbing at the same time.

He talked about how quantum mechanics is getting closer and closer to reaching the multidimensional theories. I am no scholar, but I was able to follow alot of what he was saying, retaining, now that's another question. However, I was able to keep the fact that they've proven that the smallest particles are linked (there's a name for it, but danged if I was able to retain it.) and when one particle is made to move in on direction, then the other one moves in the opposite direction.

How does this relate to us, well, I'll put it in the terms I can relate to the best. ( I really wish they would come out with a quantum mechanics comic strip or for dummies book) The thought is that there are many dimensions and many of ourselves in those dimensions. When one lemberger makes a decision to cross the street, another lemberger in a different realm, decides to stay where I am. Quantum mechanics tells us two attached particles cannot do the same thing.

Okay, I can wrap my brain around that one, but what freaks me out in thinking this through is who's running who's decision making process? Am I the lemberger who is being made to stay on the one side of the street or am I the one making a decision and crossing the road? Which dimension is in charge?

Need help with pictures
Posted On 09/23/2008 07:25:57

Good day to everyone.  Just a quick thing, I was given these pictures by someone.  So, could you all take a look and give me some sort of explaination (normal or paranormal).  I'm no photographer and don't know what to say, so I promised I'd give them to some people who did know. (Ahem, that means you people)

My batteries are dead.
Posted On 09/01/2008 09:19:07

As most of you know, I'll be traveling to Gettysburg in Pennsylvania, the holy ground of ghosthunters.  Apparently there is a spot called the Triangular Field where everyone's machinery malfunctions and batteries die.  Of course, I'll be heading up there to do some research into these claims.  I had never had a battery drainage ever, but have had experiences with apparitions.

Now, if you are like most of us, you always bring extra batteries along incase this very thing happens.  Well, why doesn't the spirit drain the batteries you bring along?  Can they only drain from a battery when it is hooked to something?  Do they need that electrical current connection in order to manipulate the energy?

If that's the case...........then why wouldn't there be more spirits when the lights are on in your house?  Why wouldn't they try to harness that energy?  We hear of them turning the lights on and off, why not use the lights to manifest themselves?  There is power coming through even if the light switch is turned off.  Our little EMF detectors tell us where all the power is at, if that's what they are made of and can manipulate their surroundings, why don't they use the high EMF's to appear?

I say, crack open the generators, get the power pumping and see what happens.

My life with paranormal animals
Posted On 08/24/2008 19:08:33

I have a window licking squirrel. It all started, one morning, at 6am, I came downstairs to get my regular cup of coffee and check my email, before my darlings (chokes on word) got up for the day. I stroll into my living room and sure enough, there's a squirrel hanging on my screen, by all four feet, licking my screen. I slowly made my way over to my desk to get my camera. I was unable to get a picture of him for he jumped off my screen as my hand fell onto my camera. Luck had it that he did not run away.

Instead, I see this fluffy tail strolling past the window and then BAM!!!!! the darn thing is sitting on it's hind legs peering into my window. This pacing and peering lasted for about 2 minutes until our cat realized there was another animal on the other side of the glass. Okay, he didn't know it was on the other side of the glass, because he ran full tilt into the window, crashed head first (The cat's name is Crash, so it fits), fell and shook his head. Not the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree, though I suppose instinct just takes over. (Men should get that one)

I thought this all to be rather funny and weird at the same time. I couldn't imagine what a squirrel would be getting from a screen window, since I never wash them and he was licking a combination of dust, pollen, and dirt. Then, just the other afternoon, I was washing my hands in the kitchen when I saw a fluffy tail go past my window, which is quite high in the air, but I do have ledges under them on the outside. I stand still and wait to see if the squirrels is just running past. NOPE!!! The little bugger sat up on it's hind legs and looks into my kitchen.

I called to my son, through pursed lips (just incase it could read lips), to come and see the windowlicking squirrel. He sneaked into the kitchen and we stood watching this peeping tom squirrel. My son told me to take another picture, I went slowly into the dining room and got my camera. I was able to take a photo of the little critter peering into my window. I was beginning to feel like William Shatner in the movie "Kingdom of the Spiders", I thought I would look out my window one morning to find it covered in acorns.

I started to tell everyone and show them pictures, when I remembered what happened last summer. My husband and I were sitting on the porch talking and smoking (we don't smoke in the house) and the kids were on the pavement tormenting ants. All of a sudden a bird swoops down and lands on the railing, right next to me and my husband. I jump up screaming (like Tippi Hendron), while my husband stays sitting down, staring at this baby robin standing next to him and this wasn't the weird part.

The thing started to chirp at us and didn't take it's eyes off of us when we moved. We walked down to the sidewalk and it followed us. We then took the kids down to the street, and it followed us again. We slowly went around it, walking backwards, till we got far enough away and then ran like crazy for the house. It worked to get the kids in the house, but I got trapped. The bird flew after us and landed between me and the porch, which just proved I needed more exercise, since I couldn't beat stinkin baby bird 20 feet.

Luckily I just walked around it, while it's peircing black eyes stared at me. As I reached for the door knob, it started to hop towards me. I think that was the fastest I'd moved in years. I shut the large door to the house and looked out the window. The bird was sitting on the porch staring at the door, chirping when it would see us peering through. For a couple of days afterwards, it would fly down when one of us went outside. It would follow us in the yard and fly around the house every once in awhile. It only stayed for about 2 weeks.

I have no idea what to think about these animals. Here are a couple of my theories:

1. One of my children is the reincarnation of St. Francis of Assisi and it's only gonna get worse.

2. All "wild" animals around my house become possessed when they come in contact with it.

3. I'm living in some sort of Snow White, whistle while you work, make the animals clean my house sort dimension.

4. I need to change my medication.

I think I'm feeling you
Posted On 08/24/2008 18:22:20

I've been hanging on to this one for quite awhile, since I haven't had anytime to sit at the computer.  My mom is in the hospital for a knee replacement and we had to stay with her because she went a little psychotic on the pain meds.  She thought everyone was out to kill her and wouldn't let us leave her side. (oh, how she was so happy to tell terrible stories about my childhood, now I got stuff against her)  She's 100% better now and almost ready to come home.

Anyways, what I was gonna write about was the episode of Paranormal State, in which they busted a Vietnam guy doing the "hauntings".  My question has to do with the montage of Chip Coffey walking through the house and giving the impressions that he was getting from the home.  As he was giving his feelings they would show back to when Ryan B. was doing the interview with the home owner.  Here's the question, who was Chip really reading?

Is it possible that Chip was picking up on what Ryan knew and not what the house was holding in it's memory? Chip was only able to go as far as what Ryan knew.  The psychic in the house where the mother killed herself, picked up on that one without Ryan knowing about it. (Atleast, I believe that's what she did, like I said, it's been a long week, cut me some slack)We as investigators always talk about how going in cold is better, then you have no preconceived notions.  Would it be better, for a psychic, to be walking around a house without anyone that knows the haunted background?  Is it possible that some glean their information from us and not from the entity, without knowing it?
