Is anyone familiar with this?.
Posted On 08/25/2008 08:39:03

While at work last Wednesday,I was getting in my car getting ready to go home for lunch which I do everyday.I will tell you here that I am a production manager for an ice company here in Columbus Ohio and we have a very large account with the Kroger stores in this state.Part of my job is making sure the ice gets loaded onto tracter trailers for the Kroger stores to be picked up and distributed to their stores. This day, I noticed a very pretty white dove under a trailer that was in the docks. Now we do see birds around the plant every day, but never any doves let alone white ones.I am a serious  student of the civil war which I will elaborate on a little more in this blog later.Yesterday, very early in the morning my older brother died from complications of lung cancer.Though we knew it was coming soon no one ever dreamed he would go this fast. Now back to the civil war.As most people who are into the civil war I have Ken Burns civil war documetary on dvd,and this morning  I recalled a story about a woman who husband was away fighting in the war who awoke to a mourning dove perched on her window seal. She immediatly began to cry, taking it as a sign that her husband had been killed in battle, which he had that same morning. This morning, thinking of my dear lost brother, I rememberd this incident with the white dove that I saw last Wednesday, and the Ken Burns documentary. Now has anyone familiar with this superstition?, or has anyone experienced anything like this before?.I am not a very superstitious person though my mother was, and she had very similar things happen to her when a relative passed. Most of you know me as olepete1863,but today Rick is in mourning:(.
