we went about 5 years ago with a friend from the area.  Had a wonderful time and some interesting experiences.

A wonderful place to visit and explore.  The mansion is in very good shape and full of orginal art and furnishings.  The children's room has an interesting feel to it and there has been a lady seen on the staircase,

We are leaving around 3pm to head off to the "hunt"   I found a couple of people to go with me though I thought they wouldn't want to go.  My daughter and her friend are going with me.  Both of them drive so I can be spelled if I get too tired.

This is their first ghost hunt.  I want it to be informative but fun as well.

All my equipment is batteried up, got extras. camera (35mm), digi cam, digi vid, recorder, flashlights and a notebook.  Warm clothes, blankets...food and drinks.  Both kids(they are both 19btw)  have the rules of engagement ;) lol

Now I'm really anxious as I don't know the group I'm going with and I'm taking my kids with me!  ;)

just kidding :D

something ate my blog!!

LOL!!

I wanted to go on an investigation this weekend but ...whimpily I dont want to go by myself.  Sounds like a neat place and would love to go sometime but I often wonder why there are so far away and no one is ever available to go with....blah!

Oh the place.....Ellaville Florida.

long time after........

or just the movie "The Waterhorse"

It's been about a  month since the trip to London, it was cold and wet there....as usual ;)  Not really wet, though cold as the dickens every day we were there.

Didn't get to do much really except the concert stuff but did head off on my own a little around the tower but it was so blasted cold and windy, mostly all I could do was shiver.  Any sound was covered by the wind and the only thing louder than that was the sound of my teeth clattering lol

I had one interesting experience and I've not heard of anything happening there so it was odd.   At the RAM we were watching the competition from the balcony.  Only one person was behind me and she was way off to the left behind me sleeping on floor, 4 seat rows back me.  I was watching another group through the camera lens and felt someone tug on my shirt.  I was sitting second level, 3rd row end so no one was sitting on that side of me, it was aisle and the closet person to me was right maybe 3 to 4 feet away.  I did not stop filming the group but reached back with my left hand, it was noticably cooler but felt nothing else.  I went back to filming and felt the tug again again, then my battery died on my camera.  This was okay because the guest group had stopped so I changed batteries,  loaded a new clip in the camera and was going to film our group and the area of the balcony....didn't happen.  Camera stopped working, though everything was fresh kept getting either a dead battery signal or full clip indication.  I asked someone else to try it and after several minutes of checking the camera he got it to work, however I didn't stay up there.  I became very dizzy, nauseated and knew I had to leave.  I have about a minute and 1/2 of film before I left the balcony area, I did not return.  I had been sitting up there for about an hour with no problem prior to this.

There was one other thing that was rather unusual as well, we, my daughter and I, were walking through St Pauls together and stopped at some point on the main floor and smiled at each other, we then looked at the wall and there was a name on it that very well could have been an ancester, as my  mother's family is English/Welsh  I wish I could have taken a picture but no pictures allowed in there.   I did go down in the vault and stand next to the Crypt of Florence Nightingale...being a nurse and all it was kind of awesome.

2 weeks and counting
Posted On 02/29/2008 18:43:20

Just have a few more things to do before leaving on the trip.  Have quit my second job Woot!!   Cleaning happens this weekend and then packing next weekend with just a few things to add through the week and off we go.

Have planned now to visit at least one cemetary near the hotel we are staying in.  We have a late night and I think I will go then, it's hard to find anywhere to go with a group of kids that have to be in by 10pm lol   The Tower, Kensington Park and Toussauds(sp) are definately added in already.  The kids are performing in one of the Cathedrals, St Georges and the adjudicated performance will be at the Royal Academy.  The awards dinner and dance will be at the Ivory House which looks like a lot of fun, sort of like Arabian Nights in Orlando for you Floridians.

Not sure if I can get an EMF detector on the plane lol  so if anyone knows let me know.  I think the cameras and recorder won't be a problem. :)

Getting prepared
Posted On 01/30/2008 09:19:48

for the London trip!  Everything is almost paid for, I quit the 2nd job on Feb 29th and then it's a 2 week wait and BLAM!  I'm looking forward to it and hope to get a little exploring time as well.   Will have both 35mm and digital cameras, recorder and a few other "toys" with me  to help gather anything interesting.

If I get anything interesting I'll post them up for folks to look at, if not well then I'll have some stories to tell about the trip.
