Sorg Opera House Investigation
Posted On 07/27/2008 11:13:24

Hey gang,
Just got back from a long night at the Sorg Opera House and another investigation in the books. It was pretty quiet most of the night during set up but while setting up our equipment I had the scare of my life.I was in the basement of the sorg setting up a camera and had another person down there with me when i felt a hand grab the back of my left shoulder.Spinning around thinking it was our tour guide who was with me at the time I found that the tour guide had left me there alone and it was not her hand that had grabbed me!! It was the first time,ok the second time I confess that I have ever had the witts scared out of me during an investigation.Beleive me,I never climbed a set of stairs that quick!!! Athough scared out of my witts I suddenly realized I didn't have my video or audio going at the time and failed to capture anything on video or audio,I was pretty ticked off to say the least. We now are beggining the long process of sifting through all our evidence audio, video and photo's.Keep checking back here for further updates on what evidence we collected and also be sure to check out our website for updates located at www.centralohioparanormalresearchgroup.com Take care all and Happy Hunting.

Upset at our government!!!
Posted On 01/20/2008 23:45:51

Hey Gang,

&nb sp;        Recently I found out that the U.S.A.F.M (United States Air Force Museum)has decided to let Taps in to do a paranormal investigation.I myself being the case manager for my group the C.O.P.R.G was furious at this fact!!! I live in Fairborn Ohio, not far from the museum and was aware of the Air Force Museum hauntings so I went there and talked to the Director there about having our team come in for an investigation. The director and all of the employees denied any paranormal activities ever happening there and told me that the government shunes the paranormal and would "never" allow any groups to ever investigate there. A man in a black suit approaches me when he found out why I was there and pulled me to the side asking me to discontinue questioning anyone about this issue and told me that anyone caught talking to me about the paranormal happenings there faced termination on the spot. Now I find out that "Taps" is going in??? I emailed Taps about this situation and i'm going back to talk to that director. If they deny our group a paranormal investigation there now i'm going to channel 2 news about it!!! There are many credible paranormal groups out there that are just as good "if not better than Taps" and I think it is a shame that just because they are backed by sci-fi and on tv that they are permitted when no other groups are.Send me your comments on this.Happy Hunting.

Gettysburg Report
Posted On 10/18/2007 10:14:26

Hey gang,

&nb sp;        Here is our final report on Gettysburg.Happy Hunting.

After doing our investigation at the "Bolton Mansion" we checked into a hotel close to Gettysburg for some much needed rest. We made our way into the town of Gettysburg around 11:30 am and found our way onto "Little Round Top",(a very important landmark from the battle of Gettysburg). You could instantly feel a sence of dread and anticipation. As we made our way to the different monuments the hill was swarming with tourists and we knew immediately that collecting evp's at this time was out of the question due to all of the noise. We then made our way down to "Devil's Den" yet another important area during the battle. The mountain of rocks that formed Devil's Den was enormous and I was awestruck. Just like Little Round Top,the den was crowded so we just snapped away with our camera's and planned to return early in the morning around 6:00 am.Before leaving to return to our hotel we also checked out the other side of the battlefield where Robert E.Lee and his troops began their assault on the Federal’s. Getting late, we decided to find the "sach's" bridge where supposedly three soldiers were hanged or shot for treason. Just as we thought we was going to have a quiet night the bridge began to fill with other paranormal groups and tourists just hoping to spot a ghost. We did manage to take some good photo's and get some evp's before it got too busy. The next morning as planned, we headed out at 6:00 am. We arrived first at the National Cemetary. It was a chilly morning but we were finally alone and it was time to get down to business. We broke out the equipment and began to start recording evp's. As we stood there gazing at the "unknown's" it was really an emotional time thinking to myself "their poor families". The feeling of sadness filled the air as a gang of crows decended upon the graveyard and began almost chanting. It has been said that when we die, crow's carry away our spirits. After leaving the cemetary we made our way into the "Museum". The museum was filled with historic relic's from those fateful three days of the bloodiest battle in history. We then left the museum and headed out to "Devil's Den" and realized that we were totally alone, at least for about 15 minuts or so.I was out of the car before it stopped anxious to get started before the morning crowd began to form. We quickly positioned ourselves to cover as much ground as we could. I made my way into the different caverns while Rick made his way into the "Triangular Field" to start on some evp work. The ladies made their way just up on the hill atop Devil's Den. After about half an hour I made my way out of the caverns and went to find the others. I met up with Nancy and Jeni coming down the hill as I went into "Triangular Filed to search for Rick who met me on my way down as he was returning up the hill. Still pretty early in the morning, we wanted to cover as much ground as we could so we headed out to the "Robert E.Lee" memorial and began snapping pictures and once again evp's. We finally made our way to the infamous "Tree line" where it is reported that quite a few confederate soldiers lost their lives trying to cross the rock wall but being stopped in their tracks. I made my way out towards the middle of the field as we all once again positioned ourselves in various spots to cover as much area as possible. While out in the field I came across a lone tombstone in which I am still trying to find out just who was laid to rest there. The lone stone was surrounded by tall grass that held within it huge boulders. "Unmarked graves?". While out in the field I heard the sounds of cannons being fired at least six to seven times which is wierd because Jeni and I ended up being the only ones to hear the cannons. Even later after going over the evp's collected I was stunned to not hear the cannon fire at all. It is reported that cannon fire is one of the residual hauntings that witnesses claim to hear while out in the field. After three long days in Pennsylvania it was starting to get late and time to head home to review all of the evidence we had collected, in which we got some very good evp's. A very good one we picked up was when I was heading up the trail to meet Rick at the top of the "Triangular Field".I had my voice recorder in my pocket, connected to a boom mic and headphones. While making my way up the trail the recorder suddenly jerked out of my pocket throwing me off balance and I began to fall luckily catching myself. During all of this comotion I picked up a voice stating "Watch out". We are still finding new evp's even now. While out at the "Lone Tombstone" in the field I asked the question "is your body still buried here?" and got a reply of a name that I can't quite make out yet and a yes". As far as the C.O.P.R.G is concerned, Gttysburg is as they say one of the most haunted if not the most haunted place in America. We are planning to return to Gettysburg in early May of next year in hopes of checking out the Baladerry Inn as well as some of the other most haunted locations in Gettysburg. Happy Hunting.

Bolton Mansion Report
Posted On 10/18/2007 10:10:21

Hey gang,

&nb sp;         Here is the final report on the Bolton Mansion in Marietta Ohio...

(10/01/07)
After a very long and grueling road trip that seemed like an eternity, we finally made our way into Pennsylvania where we checked into the motel arriving there around 9:00. After going over all the equipment and a briefing of the Bolton we began our journey towards the mansion. It seemed like once we left the hotel we entered a vortex determined to keep us from our destination. We were due to arrive at the mansion at 10:00 p.m but got lost along the way which put our arrival at the Bolton araound 10:20. After meeting with  "Jim Snow",the caretaker of the Bolton and setting up the equipment in the safe zone in the main family room,we had a sit down with him to get some background on the Bolton in which he explained all of the stories behind it's hauntings. After speaking with Jim,he began to give us a tour through the Bolton. Little did we know, but Jim had rented out the "apartment"upstairs (which was a supposed hot spot for activity)to a group of collage kids which seemed to be a little tipsy from a night of drinking. While touring the Bolton with Jim the students presented themselves and were very interested in asking questions about paranormal investigating. It seemed like adoomed investigation from the start. Not cracking on the students but they were kind of loud as collage students usually are. We weren't able to get many "evp's" due to the noise and Jim following our every move wanting to talk but we did infact catch some pretty good pictures of spiritual energy or "orbs" as they have been refered to by many groups. I have yet to go through the evp's we did take but will get to them soom and will post an update on those in the near future. Our investigation began with Nancy and Jeni starting off in one of the three basement's and Rick and I starting in yet another. We were able to get a few spikes on the k2 meter and on the emf detector at certain times. After going upstairs into the attic which is another supposed "hot spot" in the mansion, not being able to get much done due to Jim being on our every step we decided to scope out the outside to try and get some readings. While outside we didn't seem to get much at all. We once again entered the house and took yet some more pictures capturing some pretty good "orbs". We decided to finally wrap it up and make our way back to the hotel to try and catch up on some sleep and decided to start early in the morning and head to the next location to the "Battle ground's of the cival war in Gettysburg". I wish I could tell you weather or not the Bolton is indeed haunted or not but due to the chaos and noise we couldn't make that decision. So goes the life of a paranormal investigator.
  (10/03/07) “evp’s” “BOLTON MANSION”
After reviewing the evp’s taken at the Bolton Mansion
We did capture a few. The first one was captured in the  first one was captured in the basement as we heard a female tell us to “GET OUT OF THE HOUSE”.
The next one was in the front main room where we had set up which told us to “get out”. The last one was  a faint whisper of “yes”. We also caught some very good “orb” photo’s throughout the residence.

COPRG UPDATES

Hey gang,

&nb sp;       It has been a long two weeks for the coprg. We made our way to Gettysburg PA and conducted investigations at different locations such as the cemetary,Sach's bridge,Devil's Den and the main battlefield. While conducting our investigation at what has been said to be one of the most haunted places in the u.s.we got some great evp's that we will be posting on our website very soon at www.centralohioparanormalgroup.com  . We are in the process of shortening the website to a simple coprg.com and will hopefully have that running soon. We returned only to head out the following weekend to Mcconnelsville Opera House in Mcconnelsville Ohio where we got some great photo's and evp's as well.I will be posting the pics from Gettysburg on here soon along with pics from the Mcconnelsville.Below is my report on Gettysburg.I will be posting pics and my final report on the Mcconnelsville here very soon as well but we are still going through all of our evidence from that location. Our next assignment is on 11/17/07 in which we will be heading to "Fort Duffield"in Westpoint KY.Happy Hunting all.

Final report from the "Anchorage"investigation.
Posted On 09/10/2007 13:38:26

Hey gang,

&nb sp;       I recently updated the webpage that I created for the C.O.P.R.G,you can check out new photo's from the Patterson and the Anchorage on the photo page.Plus read the new "Newsletter" page talking about the upcoming investigation at the "Bolton Mansion"on 09/28/07.You can check out the website at (http://zodiac2007.tripod.com/centralohioparanormalresearchgroup/ )

Here is my final report from the "Anchorage"investigation.Enjoy.

Last night the C.O.P.R.G investigated the "Anchorage" in Marietta Ohio and had a night full of paranormal activity. We arrived at the "Anchorage"around 10 mins after eight running a few minuts behind due to bad weather and alot of traffic due to the fact that Marietta was having a festival going on with fireworks and such.As we arrived at the Anchorage we were greeted by Scott Britton who works for the historian society. After introducing ourselves,we set up our "safe zone"in the main parlor of the huge castle with 22 rooms. After setting up the equipment we began with having Scott take a group photo of us where immediately our camera's started acting crazy not wanting to function.(A normal thing we are told that happens quite often with investigators on a regular basis.)After a few minutes of my camera that kept giving me a "zoom error” on the screen finally started working we were able to take a few group photo's in which Rick's camera (Rick is the founder of the c.o.p.r.g)was filled with all kinds of "orbs” in the group photo. Finally after getting the group photo's Scott began giving us a tour of this massive structure that is going through a whole lot of restorations. We started off on the main floor getting a tour of the main parlor and hearing of Scott's personal accounts of hearing footsteps and ghostly voices. Next we made our way to the "Music Room” where Eliza Putnam and her husband would host concerts of all kinds for their guests. After touring all of the downstairs (which is quite a maze)we made our way to the second floor where the Putnam's master bedroom is located along with some of the worker's quarters are located as well.(People say that the stairwell leading to this floor is where the spirit of Eliza Putnam has been seen quite a bit). Then it was onto the next floor known as the (children’s playroom)and finally up to the tower where Eliza is also said to be spotted overlooking the city with it’s grand view. It’s easy to see why Mrs. Putnam doesn't want to leave her home. After touring the upstairs, we made our way back downstairs turning out the lights as we made our way down to the first floor and into the basement. After the tour was over we began sweeping the different floors with our emf readers and temp sizing equipment to get some good readings. Rick and I decided to start in the tower and work our way down as Jeni and Nancy started in the basement and worked their way up. After getting some promising readings we began our investigation. Rick and I grabbed a seat in the tower, took some photo's and some evp readings. We didn't really get a whole lot in the tower besides a great view of the city so we made our way down to the (children’s playroom). After about 20 minutes we made our way downward into the (master bedroom) After leaving the master bedroom we made our way across the hall into one of the children’s bedrooms. We didn't really get a whole lot here (except for getting lost a few times while exploring)so we ended up checking out some of the workers’ quarters .After a while we decided that it was getting late so we decided to make our way back downstairs into the "safe zone” and wrap it up. After meeting back up with the ladies who was also done taking evp's,photo's and different readings of all the upstairs after starting from the bottom we started packing up the equipment and getting ready for the long drive back. After playing some EVP’s taken from the previous weekend at the "Patterson Homestead Museum” in Dayton Ohio for Scott that scared him quite a bit and saying our goodbye's we headed out. Not feeling as though we had very much we were hoping for some great evidence either on film or evp's.After some much needed sleep the next morning(9/09/07)I began sifting through the evidence we had collected. After going through over 300 photo's(weeding out the "possible and nothings")I only found about 25 photo's that revealed some pretty good "orbs".Now,anyone who knows me, knows that I am very skeptical when it comes to "orbs”. After doing allot of extensive research on these things we have come to call (orb's)I have yet to get very excited about any that I have seen due to so many different possibilities such as dust ect.I would rather catch a possible full body apparition anyway which is pretty rare but it does happen from time to time. I finally made it through the photos and began the long grueling evp extracting. Right from the start (while Rick and I were in the children’s playroom) I figured out pretty quick that we were not alone and was in fact joined by the presence of a female spirit that began to laugh at our jokes and wisecracks. In one part of the recording I say to Rick (holding the digital thermometer)"I can think of a few other things that I could do with this (while cracking a joke like, come here baby I want to get your temp) ok I know this was probably uncalled for but we thought it was funny and apparently so did the female presence who laughed along with us. I also mentioned something about "I bet if Jeni sees something, she will freak out and be scared” Throughout this conversation as well the female presence laughed along with us especially when Rick announced that I had better watch what I say because the recorder was on and Jeni would get me.lol. The female presence got a good laugh at this one. After leaving the children’s playroom we made our way into the master bedroom of the Putnam's where Rick's warlike talkie started beeping like crazy although no one was calling us.Everytime we would ask a question it would start beeping. After leaving the master bedroom we made our way across the hall to one of the children’s bedrooms. While in this room we came across an eerie clipping entitled "The first Marietta hanging” with a detailed description of a man who was hung after committing a murder.Ok now I was creepe'd out. While in the room we also came across some very old medicines we believe were used when the home was a former "resthome".I found one medication for constipation as I told Rick to radio down to the girls and ask them if they were feeling constipated we again heard the sound of a woman's laughter. While Jeni and Nancy were in the basement on (Jeni's EVP’s captured) she picked up a "very clear” woman’s voice stating ("I can't breath"). Which shook both of us up when we heard it play on the evp processor. Later on in Jeni's recording while they were in the music room she asks if Eliza Putnam is with them in the room and got a very clear male's voice stating "no".Also, when she asked if someone wanted their picture taken with them she caught a very clear "yes” again by a very prominent male voice. There was just one more grade "A" evp captured that night. While Jeni and Nancy were in the shower room,Jeni asked the question,” Can you say anything??"we picked up a very clear prominent male voice replying once again with the answer of "no”. For some reason Rick and I were followed by a female presence while the ladies were followed by what we believe to be the spirit of the colonel from long ago. I guess maybe the spirit's in this home are I guess you could say partial. Needless to say, we are looking very forward to returning to the "Anchorage” in hopes of encountering our friendly and very talkative spirit's once again. Only this time hopefully we will be camping with them overnight in hopes of being entertained even more.
